CLARA BARTON P-TA The Clara Barton Parent-Teacher Association marked the coming of Christmas with a Christmas program on Dec. 17, in the schoolgrounds, in place of a business meeting. Each grade level performed a skit or sang Christmas carols, and Miss Hein's and Miss Barnes' third graders added a note of levity to the occasion when they appeared with brightly painted noses to sing "Rudolph The Red-nosed Reindeer". Also in the Christmas spirit, Mrs. R. E. Conway, Welfare Chairman, announced that four baskets of food and toys are being made up from contributions by the children to be given to families in need. James Brier, principal, pointed out that Clara Barton is one year old this month. When the school opened last December there were seven teachers and 240 children. Today, there are 17 teachers and 550 children. The Association provided refreshments for the individual room parties held the last day of school. The faculty, the members of the Association, and the children of the school all join in hoping this will prove to be a truly joyous holiday season for all.
