NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Bail proposals will be received at the office of the State Highway Engineer, Room 406. Division of Highways Building, 138 South Spring Street, Los Angeles, California, until 5 (good time) on December 8, 1957, at which time they will be publicly opened and read in Room 2 of gold building, for construction on State highway in accordance with the specifications therefor, to which special reference is made, as follows:

Orange County, In Stanton on Stanton Avenue at Chapman avenue, Katella Avenue and Cerritos Avenue; and in Anaheim, on Stanton Avenue at Ball Road (VII-Ora-171-St.Ana), traffic signal systems and highway lighting to be furnished and installed and intersection improvements to be constructed.
Bids are required for the entire work described herein.
In accordance with the provisions of Section 1778 of the Labor Code, the Department of Public Works has accepted the general prevailing rate of wages applicable to the work to be done to be as follows:

Plans may be seen, and proposals, bonds, contractations may be obtained in connection with the district in California, and they may be the offices of the District at Los Angeles and courthouse at the office of the DUI neer of the district in California.
No bid will be considered if made on a blank form by the State Highway Enforcement Department in accordance with the rules of the Association of Districts in San Francisco.

be all holidays recognized in the collective agreement applicable to the particular craft, occupation or type of workmen employed on the project.
Plants may be seen, and forms of proposals, sounds, contract, and specifications may be obtained at the office of the State Highway Engineer, Public Works Bureau, Sacramento, California, and they may be seen at the offices of the District Engineers at Los Angeles and San Francisco, at the office of the District Engineer of the district in which the work is situated, and at the office of the Associated General Contractors in San Francisco.
No bid will be considered unless it is made on a blank form furnished by the State Highway Engineer and is made in accordance with the provisions proposed Requirements and conditions set forth in section 2 of the Standard specifications. Each bidder must be licensed and also prequalified as required by law (see said Proposal Requirements and Conditions.)

Anaheim American Legion Post No. 72 held their first dance of the season recently in the Legion Hall at 936 No. Lemon Street. There were free door prizes, games and refreshments were served. There was no admission charge, but chairman Jim Thompson said a donation of $1 was asked to pay for the band.
