"Excessive speed, violations of the right-of-way, driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving on the wrong side, of the road and improper turns make up the greatest number of driving errors noted in traffic accidents," declared Patrol Captain H. W. Null of the Anaheim area. "During the first eight months of this year 63 persons were killed and 1,727 injured in traffic accidents in this area. "With the more hazardous months still ahead, every driver must take inventory of his or her driving habits," the Captain said. "The fact that about nine out of every ten traffic accidents are caused by one or more violations of the traffic laws should give us a measuring stick for our driving practices." "Traffic laws are safety rules designed to protect the life of he who obeys them," he concluded. "Make obedience to the rules a habit and stop gambling your life by chance-taking in traffic."
