How we gear telephone service to protect your family in emergencies. To guard essential phone services against emergencies of all kinds, telephone people plan ahead continually. Here are some of the things we're doing: We're completing alternate communications routes around key cities. And most main cables are now underground. They could withstand a terrific battering. Phone buildings are widely scattered and built extra strong. They are among the sturdiest standing. But were a vital link knocked out, we have plans ready for quickly restoring essential services. And within the company we've set up alternates for key jobs. We test these precautions often. As needs change, we change with them. For we want to be sure communications vital to your safety are ready if they're needed.
Working together to serve you better ...
