Electric cooking keeps more juice in meat—because it's flameless! When you cook electrically there's no draft of constantly changing air because there's no flame. (Flame, you see, needs air to breathe. So a flame-heated oven constantly inhales dry air, exhales moist air—literally cooks meat in a hot draft that evaporates good juices.) In an electric oven there's no draft of dry air. You cook with moist heat. As a result, more juice stays in the meat—and the meat tastes better. Electric cooking is far cooler, too. As much as 10° cooler. The reason is obvious: electric cooking puts the heat directly into the food, not into the room. Electric cooking is cleaner, too, because it's flameless. There are no by-products of combustion to dirty walls and darken your bright pans. Truly, it's the only modern way to cook. Why not see your appliance dealer for a demonstration of the new electric ranges? SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA Culson COMPANY LIVE BETTER—ELECTRICALLY! Did you know? IT'S SO EASY TO REDEEM RAISIN BONUS STAMPS JUST BRING THEM TO ANY RAISIN MARKET RAISIN'S This merchandise not available at South Gate or East Los Angeles Stores Children of Vets Over 18 Years Old Get School Aid Orange County Veterans Service Officer Ben Liebermann, recently stated that a dependent child of a deceased veteran going to school after his 18th birthday is entitled to a special $35 monthly payment if the mother, the veteran's widow, continues as his parent, or $70 a month if the mother, too, is deceased. If there is more than one child, the rates are $100 for two, $130 for three, and $25 for each additional child, payable in equal shares. At age 18 the same child could become eligible for educational assistance (normally $110 monthly) under P.L. 634, payable until the child's 23rd birthday, but only during full time school enrollment, up to 36 months. The two benefits, under P.L. 881 and 634, may not be received simultaneously. Furthermore, election of the latter cancels out a child’s indemnity rights under P.L. 881. Therefore, a child eligible for both benefits would do well to consider delaying application for P.L. 634 educational aid until his 19th birthday or even until age 20, if 36 consecutive months of schooling are contemplated. Many hundreds of dollars in additional benefit payments are at stake in the decision. Information and advice may be obtained from any Veterans Administration Office or any Veterans Service Office. The National Council of the Churches of Christ is composed of 30 separate denominations. The dairy industry is the most important agricultural industry in California. BACK TO SCHOOL!
