7- Anaheim Gazette Anaheim, Calif., Thurs., May 21, 1907 Hanna Gets Bill Through Assembly Assembly Bill 1783 authored by Richard T. Hanna, State Assemblyman from the 75th District, in a telegram received Tuesday morning, advised it had passed the Assembly Monday of this week. This bill would amend Section 4904 of the Labor Code correcting an evil whereby a claimant under the Workmen's Compensation Act receiving an installment payment award for an injury may have his payments delayed for many months, since the existing statute calls for liens to be paid off in installments before the injured claimant may receive any money. Under the Hanna Amendment, liens would be paid off immediately and the balance of the award would be paid with immediate commencement of installments to the injured claimant.
