Budlong of 20046 Canyon Blvd., Anaheim, arrived at Port Lyttelton, New Zealand, Jan. 12, aboard the seaplane tender USS Curtiss. The Curtiss is transporting scientists, relief wintering-over personnel and technicians to American outposts on the Antarctic Continent as part of "Operation Deepfreeze II." Deepfreeze is a four-year program of Naval support for American scientists in the Antarctic. These scientists while wintering-over will make earth science studies during the International Geophysical Year. Army Sergeant First Class William B. Glaskox, 26, son of W. A. Glaskox, 10702 S. West St., Anaheim, is participating with the 18th Airborne Infantry Combat Group in "Operation Market II," a mid-January training exercise conducted by the 101st Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, N.C. The operation is designed to test the combat efficiency of the new streamlined division under simulated atomic warfare conditions.
