30 at Helen Aubin Home for Christmas
A jovial 85-year-old Santa Claus greeted 30 relatives of Mrs. Helen Kellogg Aubin at her home at 122 Orange Avenue in Santa Ana on Christmas morning.
After refreshments were served, Santa Claus appeared, blowing his horn, and gave each of the assembled guests a horn to blow; then distributed the gifts from the huge market basket provided for gifts.
When the 24 great grandsons opened their new bill folds to find a crisp dollar bill, they hoped Santa would come again, but little did they know that Santa was really their 85-year old great grandmother, Mrs. Aubin.
Mrs. Suzanne Kellogg Eisler and two children, James and Betty Sue of Pasadena, have been visiting their aunt, Mrs. Aubin and her father, George Timothy Kellogg of Yorba Linda. James will leave next week for New York where he will go into the Air Corps and Bettie Sue and her mother will join Mr. Eisler in Japan.

INTEREST RAISED
Bank of America has increased interest paid on savings accounts to three per cent, compounded semi-annually. It was announced in San Francisco today by President S. Clark Beise. The new rate was effective Jan. 1, 1957. Beise said.

because somebody wanted ALL of the road?
Every day, in communities all over America, scores of wives become widows—suddenly—because of traffic accidents that don't have to happen!
Why do these tragedies strike?
Because someone behind the wheel wants all the road?
Because a fool in a car wants to show off his horse-power?
This year alone, over 40,000 men, women and children will lose their lives on our roads and highways, according to the present accident rate!
Yet most of these deaths can be prevented.
All it needs is your cooperation... cooperation that can save your own life, or the life of someone in your family.
FORTY
THOUSAND
FUNERALS
WILL RESULT FROM TRAFFIC ACCIDENTS THIS YEAR?
—will yours be one of them?
40,000 heartbroken families will know—
because of traffic accidents
this year, unless all of us
do something about it!
A car collision.
A child struck down.
A hit-and-run case.
this year, unless all of us do something about it!
A car collision.
A child struck down.
A hit-and-run case.
However it happens, the tragedy is the same! And this tragedy will be repeated 40,000 times this year, in traffic accidents all over America, according to the present accident rate.
Yet, in your community and everywhere else, these Napoleons of the road can be halted!
All it needs is your cooperation :::: cooperation that can save your own life, or the life of someone in your family.
Almost twice as many Americans have been killed in traffic accidents as have died in all the battles fought by American armies in all wars including the Revolutionary War.
Can anything be done to prevent these deaths? The answer, at last, is yes.
E'S HOW YOU CAN HELP
STOP TRAFFIC DEATHS NOW
First—Drive safely and sensibly yourself. Keep alert. Watch traffic and pedestrians. Observe speed limits and warning signs.
Where drivers are careful and obey the law, deaths go DOWN!
Second—Insist on strict enforcement of all traffic laws. Traffic regulations work for you, not against you.
In one state alone—in just 3 months—deaths fell 14%, while national rates climbed 11%! It was done by automatically丧命 licences—by banning potential killers from the road!
Wherever traffic laws are strictly enforced, deaths go DOWN!
