Los Angeles St. — Anaheim — KEystone 3-3121 Anaheim Gazette THURSDAY NOVEMBER 15, 1956 BROILED LAMB SHOULDER CHOPS WITH VEGETABLES 6 lamb shoulder chops, cut 1 inch thick 2 tablespoons grated onion 1 tablespoon lard or drippings 2 cups cooked rice 1 can condensed tomato soup Salt Pepper 1 can (16 ounces) green beans Brown the onion in lard or drippings. Add rice, tomato soup and seasonings. Pour rice mixture into the broiler pan. Arrange drained green beans around the edge. Place chops on broiler rack over rice and vegetables. Place pan in broiler so the top surface of the chops is 2 inches from the heat. season and turn and finish cooking on the second side. Chops will require 10 to 12 minutes total cooking time. Yield: 6 servings. HASTY CHILI 1 pound ground beef 2 tablespoons lard or drippings 2 small onions, chopped 1 can (1 lb. 13 oz.) tomatoes 1 can (1 lb. 4 oz.) kidney beans 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons chili powder ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper Brown the beef slowly in lard or drippings. Add onion, tomatoes, beans and seasonings. Cook slowly for 1 hour. Water may be added if desired and the seasonings can be adjusted to taste. Salt Pepper 1 can (16 ounces) green beans Brown the onion in lard or drippings. Add rice, tomato soup and seasonings. Pour rice mixture into the broiler pan. Arrange drained green beans around the edge. Place chops on broiler rack over rice and vegetables. Place pan in broiler so the top surface of the chops is 2 inches from the heat.
