NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the State Highway Engineer, Room 406, Division o Highways Building; 120 South Spring Street, Los Angeles, California, unit 2 of clock p.m. on June 28, 1956, at which time they will be public opened and read in Room 2 of solid building, for construction on State highway in accordance with the specifications therefor, to which special reference is made, as follows:
Los Angeles and Orange Counter stagnations locations (PLL.L.A. Ora. 174:43, 170:176, 178, 182-Va.) about 11.6 miles in net length to be surfaced with plant-mixed surfacing or existing surfacing.
Bids are required for the entire work described herein.
In accordance with the provision of Section 1770 of the Labor Code the Department of Public Works be acertained the general prevailing rate of wages applicable to the work to be done as follows:

Any classification omitted herein not less than $2.10 per hour.
Overtime—not less than one and one-half (1½) times the above rates Sundays and holidays—not than one and one-half (1½) times the above rates. The holidays upon which such rates shall be paid shall be all holidays recognized in the collective bargaining agreement applicable to the particular craft, classification or type of workmen employed on the project.
Plans may be seen, and forms of proposal, bonds, contract, and specifications may be obtained at the office of the State Highway Engineer Public Works Building Securities California, and they may be seen at the offices of the District Engineer at Los Angeles and San Francisco at the office of the District Engineer of the district in which the work is situated, and at the office of the Associated General Contractors in San Francisco.
No bid will be considered unless it is made on a blank form furnished by the State Highway Engineer and is made in accordance with the provisions of the Proposal Requirements and Conditions set forth under Section 2 of the Standard Specifications Each bidder must be licensed and also prequalified as required by law (the said Proposal Requirements and Conditions).
The Department of Public Work reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
