A. Pearson and Ray Wagoner, and four new aspirants for city positions are working long hours campaigning and soliciting votes from Anaheim citizens. The four seeking one of the two posts up for election are Rex Coons, Chas. B. Cotton, Roy M. Bender and Odra (Chuck) Chandler. The election will be next Tuesday, April 10. Chas. A. Pearson, Mayor of Anaheim, has been a member of the City Council since April 1940 and has served his city as mayor all these years. He is personally interested in the affairs of the city and has always worked to the best interests of his home town and its citizens. He stated that Anaheim must have a continued balance in its development, both residentially and industrially and he has worked very closely with the present phenomenal growth of this vicinity. He has worked with all his effort in promoting the water facilities of the city, in securing all monetary benefits to which the City of Anaheim is entitled, has worked closely with the city schools in promoting our fine school system which we enjoy today, and many other important phases that has contributed so much to the growth of Anaheim. Anaheim Gazette 11 Thursday, April 5, 1956 PUBLIC SCHOOLS WEEK Tentative plans for observances of National Public Schools Week here April 23-28 have been announced by Roy Luther, Master of Anaheim's Masonic Lodge No. 207. Herman Koenig, Master of Mother Colony Lodge No. 750 will serve as chairman of events which will include open houses and special programs by all local schools. He will be assisted by Ralph Wines, principal of Western Junior high school and James J. Hull, principal of George Washington and Broadway schools. Mariners Set "Honeymoon Cruise" When the Mariners Admiralty board of First Presbyterian Church met recently, a "Honeymoon Cruise" was set for July 9, 10, 11 and 12.
