Shively-Murphy Nuptials Held at St. Boniface Church A double ring ceremony at St. Boniface church united in marriage Miss Betty Murphy of Anaheim and Robert Shively of Garden Grove. Nuptial mass was read by Rev. Paul Peterson. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas B. Murphy of 1135 Louisa Dr., was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of Chantilly lace and nylon tulle. A pearl-trimmed tiara held a finger tip veil, and she carried a prayer book covered with an arrangement of orchids, carnations and stephanotis. Mrs. Richard Harn attended her sister as matron of honor. She wore rose crystalene eyelet with matching hat studded with rhinestones, Wearing similar ensembles in aqua tones were bridesmaids Misses Carol Sioman of Anaheim and Bobbie Montague of Garden Grove. Two small nieces of the bride, Linell and Kathleen Harn, served as flower girls. Donald Edison was ring bearer. John Cochran and Robert McDaniel were acolytes. The bridegroom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Shively of Lima, Ohio, were unable to attend the wedding or the reception which followed at Capilla de San Antonio. Miss Elizabeth Fitzpatrick was in charge of the guest book and Miss Carol Andrade and Miss Gloria Beninato assisted with Methodist to Observe March of Faith Year The Southern California-Arizona Conference of the Methodist church at Ks last session voted to make this the "March of Faith" year—with particular emphasis upon evangelism. Though recognized throughout the world for its evangelistic fervor, more recent attention has been called to its mighty church-building, its concern for the downtrodden and under-privileged, it still believes in human redemption and salvation for the mentally disturbed and troubled in heart. Under the leadership of Bishop Gerald Kennedy of the Los Angeles area, the three hundred sixty-four churches of the Southern California - Arizona Conference, during the Lenten season will hold evangelistic-visitation services in every Methodist church. During the week of Feb. 22-21, pastors from the San Diego District will occupy pulpits in the churches of Whittier district and March 7-14, pastors of Whittier district will hold services in each of the churches of San Diego district. The Rev. Arinur Hobson of Asbury Church, San Diego, will occupy the pulpit of White Temple Methodist church, assisting its pastor, The Rev. Earl Kernahan, while the Rev. Phillip D. Norvell of San Jacinto will take over the pulpit of Wesley church, of which Rev. Wm. McKinley Walker is pastor. Society Hold DIVIDEND PAID TO KWIKSET CREDIT UNION MEMBERS A four percent dividend to ing more than $9,000 was paid members of the Kwikset Credit Union who, during 1955, had invested their savings in the employee savings and loan institution at the Anaheim manufacturing firm. Treasurer Forrest Whitehall said the Credit Union had no loans of about $375,000 during 1955 to employees of Kwikset. Money is repaid through regular authorized payroll deductions. Joe Madigan was elected president of the Kwikset Credit Union succeeding Dick Swanson. Members of the board, best Swanson and Madigan, are W helmena Ferguson, Lynn S John M. Reid and Henry Bleeced. Members of the Credit Committee are Barbara Sottak, B Morris and Paul Stoffleth. Members of the Supervisory Committee are Catherine Paschold, J Polta and Dorothy Pelton. Pfc Clifford Swallow In Southern Germany PFC Clifford N. LEAP YEAR THEME The Western Orange County Mother Singers directed by Mrs. Bessie Gray was the program feature last night for a family pot luck dinner at White Temple Methodist church. As a leap year observance, women took over the entire program planned by the Family Life Committee, Mr. and Mrs. M. Tolf, Mr. and Mrs. Herschel Roberts and Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Wolverton. Society Hold Bridge Parties A prize of $50 went to Mrs. Stanley Hawkins of 754 No. Janss St., when the Northern Orange County Chapter, Children's Home Society held 16 dessert bridge parties simultaneously. The parties were held in the homes of members to raise money to aid in the placement of children in adoptive homes. Local hostesses were as follows: Mmes. Arthur Lyttle and Samuel Gendel entertained in the Lytle home at 11075 E. Las Palmas Ave.; Mmes. Oscar Schultz, Max Besler and Claude Owens welcomed guests to the Schultz home at 700 N. Citron; Mmes. Frederick Rusch, Jack Royer and Stanley Louden were hostesses in the Loudon home at 742 North Janss; Mmes Howard Loudon and William Armstrong received guests at the Loudon home at 755 N. Pine. Pfc Cliford Swallow In Southern Germany PFC Clifford N. Swallow, of Clifford Swallow, 9622 Webb Anaheim, took part in a weather field training exercise recently held by the 5th Infantry Division in southern Germany. Carrying out tactical missiles in sub-zero weather, the trumpet put classroom theories into practice. Private First Class, Swallow driver in Company I of the division's 10th Regiment, entered Army in May 1954 and completed basic training at Fort Ord, Ore. He arrived in Europe in June 1155. Law Firm Opens Office in Anaheim The law firm of Austin, Austin, Jones and Chaffee, a pioneer in the bar of Compton, Calif., proudly announces the opening of a new law office at 110 S. Los Angeles Street, Anaheim, KE 3-3165, which will be headed by George L. Harris, an attorney associated with this firm. Mr. Harris attended Newport Harbor Union High school in Orange county, received his high school diploma in 1941 from Long Beach Polytechnic High school, was awarded his Bachelor of Arts degree by the University of California at Los Angeles in 1946 and was graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1949. He took the 1949 fall California bar examination and was admitted to practice in January, 1950. He practiced law for 4½ years in Long Beach—the first year of which he was a resident on Balboa Island. In June, 1954, Mr. Harris became associated with the well known and long respected firm of Austin, Austin, Jones and Chaffee, of which he is now a member. Mr. Harris is married to Jean Wightman Harris, who resided in Santa Ana with her parents for many years prior to her marriage. They are the proud parents of Leslie Ann Harris, 3½ years old, and George Lee Harris, Jr., 1½ years old. Mr. Harris intends to establish his residence in the city of Anaheim. Local Men Join Air National Guard Among the large class of recruits to be sworn into the 222nd Radio Relay Squadron of the Air National Guard on Feb. 22, are two men from Anaheim, Leon Hagan of 114 S. Philadelphia st., and Terry LaFortune of 11432 W. Romneya Dr. The ceremony is to be held at the recruiting office at the Community Center, 1020 W. 8th st., Santa Ana. The big drive for recruits started on Feb. 1 and will end on the 22nd. Most of the young men signing up for the service are from the high schools, as is the case with the two men from the city.
