Electronics Classes Popular at Fullerton Evening School
The electronics classes at Fullerton Adult Evening school have attracted a large attendance. John N. Reld, principal of the adult education division, states that 244 members have been enrolled in the various electronics classes.
"Survey of Electronics" taught by Arthur Gandy has an enrollment of 21. This course covers a complete survey or overview of the entire field of electronics. It is an accelerated study of the electrical nature of matter, circuit elements, signals; electron tubes, rectification, simplification, oscillation, receivers and transmitters, test equipment, sound, scientific and industrial instruments, communication and TV., and special electronic circuits and applications.
Basic Theories
Seventy-two members have enrolled in the two classes "60A Basic DC Circuits". A comprehensive study of DC and AC as the first of a two-year program, this course offers a semi-complete coverage of the electronics field, including the basic theory of electricity, batteries, circuits, magnetism, meters and instruments, and electric power apparatus. The two classes in "Principles
of Electronics I" have an enrollment of 75 members. This is the second of a two-year program of study for a semi-complete mastery of the electronics field. It is a study of the application of the fundamentals of electricity to circuit analysis, electron tube principles, and functions as they apply to radio, TV, audio, and electronic equipment in general. It covers an introduction to radio,
circuit analysis, receivers, circuits,
vacuum tubes, detectors, tuners,
amplifiers, and oscillators. The
classroom teachers are Elwood
Blondfield and Leslie W. Chapin,
and the lab instructor is Vernon Bray.
Advanced Electronics
There are 31 enrolled in "Advanced Applied Electronics. Industrial", a modern study of industrial developments and applications in the electronics field for
electronic technicians, lab or research technicians and engineers. William Kohlenberger is the teacher of this class.
"Applied Electronics Servicing I (TV)" class taught by Ansil Ellis has an enrollment of 45. This course covers specific problems of circuit failures, alignments, and new techniques used in diagnosing and servicing. Most of the class time is spent in laboratory work involving the repair of TV and electronic equipment.
Opti-Mrs. to Distribute Thanksgiving Baskets
Hazel McHenry, welfare chairman of Anaheim Opti-Mrs., will be in charge of distribution of Thanksgiving baskets to be given the needy as the club's welfare project. Food for the baskets will be collected at the Nov. 22 meeting at the home of Frances Larson, 303 N. Philadelphia st. President Helen Mitchell has announced that the group will assist the Optimists with their annual Christmas party.
NEXT CONCERT OF PHILHARMONIC SOCIETY ON NOV. 3
On December 3rd at the Anahelm High school auditorium, the next concert in the current season will be presented by the Orange County Philharmonic Society. Mrs. Frieda Bellinfante of Santa Ana will be the permanent conductor.
A new phase of the concert
work in the county is being estilished. The Youth Concert program is a separate and independent branch of the society's adtivities. Mrs. Morris V. Slack o'

A. B. Scutt, Former H. S. Employee, Dies
Ambrose B. Scutt, 73, a native of New York who came to Anaheim 33 years ago and who was an employee of the Anaheim Union High school for 24 years, died last Thursday afternoon at the Anaheim Community hospital after a brief illness.
He is survived by his wife, Eva M. Scutt; one son, Gerald A. Scutt of Anaheim and one granddaughter, Patricia L. Scutt of Anaheim.
He was a member of the White Temple Methodist church and of man and Mrs./Gordon McComber of Buena Park, will also be working on behalf of this committee.
Miss Martha Metteler of Anaheim, city librarian, has been named the Philharmonic area chairman for Anaheim. The effort and interest will be emphasized in this area since experience has shown the attendance at the concerts to be drawn heavily on the local basis.

Funeral services were conducted in Hilgenfeld chapel Monday at 2 o'clock, Rev. Earl Kernahan, pastor of White Temple church, officiating. The ritual of the Odd Fellows Lodge was read at the graveside in Anaheim cemetery.
Trenton, capital of New Jersey, is named after William Trent, who bought the city's site in 1714.
