MOTHER COLONY LODGE 750, F.& A.M. TO BE CONSTITUTED HERE NOV. 10 A Masonic event of more than local interest will take place on Thursday night, Nov. 10, when the Grand Lodge F. & A. M., of California will meet in Anaheim to constitute a new Masonic Lodge in Orange county. The meeting will be preceded by a dinner at 6:30 o'clock, in the dining room of the Masonic Temple, at which Grand Lodge officers, together with local members, officers, and other Masonic guests will be seated. The constituting of Mother Colony Lodge No. 750 will be the first constituting meeting of the Grand Lodge in Anaheim since Anaheim Lodge No. 207 was constituted on Nov. 17, 1870. Worshipful Brother Samuel Prager of Los Angeles Lodge No. 42, was appointed by the Grand Lodge to serve as chief officer for the occasion. At this meeting, not only constituting ceremonies were held, but also dedication and installation. Thomas Casad was installed as the first Worshipful Master, (he also served in that capacity while Anaheim Lodge was under dispensation). The dispensation was granted Anaheim Lodge on May 17, 1870. Temple Association Formed On June 5, 1912, the Anaheim Masonic Association was organized, the purpose of which was to erect a new Masonic Temple. August Nagel was the first association president. On March 26, 1913, at a special meeting of the Local Women Mark World Community Day at Church "Give us this day our daily bread" was the theme for the local observance of World Community Day on Friday. The Anaheim Council of Church Women held the meeting in the Church of the Nazarene with Mrs. B. Cross in charge of devotions. Guest speaker was Mrs. Warren C. Vining, Jr. who was for 6½ years a missionary and teacher in Assam, India. She is in this country on furlough. Special music was by the Orange County Mothers chorus with Mrs. Bessie Gray directing and Mrs. Edyth Swenson, accompanist. Mrs. Guy Heckman made the program arrangements. Clothing was collected to be sent to foreign countries. H. Thomas New Member of County Republican Group Harold Thomas of 1210 W. Center St. has been appointed to Orange County Republican Central committee to replace Mrs. Coalson. Morris who resigned for health reasons, He is in the real estate investment business. Thomas is also president of the Anaheim Community Concert Ass'n, and publicity chairman of the Anaheim Unified Campaign. Miss Elva Haskett, head of the (he also served in that capacity while Anaheim Lodge was under dispensation). The dispensation was granted Anaheim Lodge on May 17, 1870. On March 26, 1913, at a special meeting of the association, it was announced that enough money was in the treasury to start the erection of the proposed new Temple, and on May 26, 1913, a contract was let to contractor J. S. Hilend for the construction of the new Temple. A dispensation Granted A dispensation having been granted, the club met in the I.O. O.F. hall on the evening of Feb. 5, 1955, as Mother Colony Lodge, U.D., for institution. At this meeting Worshipful Grand Master Henry C. Clausen, presided and installed Brothers, Warren C. Hodges, Worshipful Master; Herman A. Koenig, Senior Warden, and D.H. VanMeter, Junior Warden. Following this ceremony, newly-installed Worshipful Master Warren C. Hodges, at the instance of the Grand Master, installed the other officers of the lodge. The Worshipful Master then introduced Worshipful Inspector' William T. Rodger, of the 628th district, and Past Master Sam O. McGaughey of Azure Lodge, Fullerton, who had served as Officers Coach of Mother Colony. Lodge Number Assigned At the recent meeting of the Grand Lodge, Mother Colony Lodge, U.D., having met all requirements while operating under dispensation, was duly assigned an official number (750) and given full authority to act and operate as a fully-fledged lodge, and Harold Thomas of 1210 W. Center St. has been appointed to Orange County Republican Central committee to replace Mrs. Coalson. Morris who resigned for health reasons. He is in the real estate investment business.
