Announces Scholarship Plan America's largest industry sponsored scholarship program entered its second year with the announcement today by General Motors to the nation's 24,000 secondary schools regarding opportunities for their senior students to win scholarships to colleges and universities of their choice. Harlow H. Curtice, president said 350 young men and women who were winners of the first year's awards are now enrolled in schools and universities throughout the country. Mrs. Sarah Silk, Native of Poland, Dies Sunday Mrs. Sarah Silk, 70, a native of Poland who came to America in 1920 and who has lived in Anaheim for two years, died early Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. Tucker, 1129 Louise Drive, after an extended illness. She is survived by two other daughters, Mrs. B. Berck of Penn., and Mrs. B. Bekerman of Iowa; one brother, M. Norton of Iowa; one sister, Mrs. N. Balabon of London, England, and also nine grandchildren. Hilgenfeld Mortuary is forwarding the body to Des Moines, Iowa, where funeral services will be conducted and burial will follow in the family plot in Glendale cemetery. This is a plastic-finished hardboard available at lumber yards and widely used for home modernization. A top of marble pattern would be excelled for this purpose. The surface is long-wearing.
