Overnight Trip
To U.S. Pleases
Anaheim Major
The dream of every serviceman overseas—an overnight trip to the United States when his tour of duty is done—was answered week for Major Daniel J. Newman who listed his address as c/o seph Newman, 849 N. Clement Anaheim, California.
Major Newman, accompanied by Mrs. Newman, arrived at Seattle-Tacoma airport on a northwest Orient Airlines trans-Pacific plane from Tokyo, on Wednesday night, after a flight of about hours, with a stop en route in chorage, Alaska.
The Newman family was part of a current movement by commercial airliners across the Pacific of military personnel and dependents, which was occasioned by shortage of cabin accommodations and resulting backlog of personnel due for rotation or discharge.

Glifford Clark Is Now Army Medic
Private Clifford V. Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton V. Cuark, 532 N. Lemon, Anaheim, has completed the Medical Training Center's eight-week course of advanced basic training at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas.
The training at the Army's only basic training center for combat aid men and medical corpsmen has prepared him for duty with the Army Medical Service. The Medical Training Center offers intensive instruction in field medical care and hospital ward management, and trainees make practical application of their instruction during a field problem conducted for five days under the simulated battle conditions.
Medical Training Center is one of eight units of Brooke Army Medical Center, the Army's largest medical installation. The center carries on virtually all phases of professional and technical training in military medicine as well as patient treatment and research.
Private Clark, a 1954 graduate of Anaheim Union High School, entered the Army last January.
Installation of officers will highlight the YLI dinner meeting at the Water Wheel restaurant on Monday night, June 20.
