The dance is to be in the Sunny Hills Recreation Hall. Mrs. Mary Albright has been installed chairman of the Wesley Methodist Church SOS Circle with Mrs. F. W. License to wed has been issued John Reyburn Hendricks and Judy Anada Hendricks, both of Anaheim, and to Abel A. Perez of Anaheim and Virginia Castillo of El Modena. SINGS IN ORATORIO A resident of Anaheim was among the student performers in the recent Festival of Contemporary Music presented by the University of California, Santa Barbara college. In a production of Honnegger's oratorio "King David," was Mary Carter, 39232 E. Ball Road. This great symphonic psalm was given before a full house in the college auditorium, under the direction of Carl Zytowski, instructor in music. Named to head activities for the Girls' Athletic Association at Anaheim Union High school are Terry Carter, president; Marilyn Buckern, vice-president; Kay Schmidt, secretary; Margaret Olvera, treasurer; Clada Pletz, publicity and Diane Richards, sports commissioner. Edward O. Stoffel, son of the Edward H. Stoffels of 10381 S. Nutwood St., received a professional engineering degree this month from the University of Santa Clara. It's a 6 lb, 9½ oz. daughter for Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Daniel, 1899 Almond St. Their baby was born in Fullerton Cottage hospital on June 10. Daily, resident manager of Delco Battery Operations in Anaheim, announced the promotion of Mr. Ray A. Miller to the position of foreman in the Lead Molding and Oxide department. Miller has been employed at Delco Battery Operations since April 13, 1954 and, prior to his present appointment, has been serving as a utility man in the Lead Molding department. Mr. and Mrs. Miller and their three children reside at 10881 Pacific Avenue in La Habra. TELL OF ENGAGEMENT Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Koss of 7652 E. Orange Ave., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Jeannette, to Gary L. DeLay, son of the George R. DeLays of Westminster. The couple plan to be married in the garden of Capilla de San Antonio on July 2. She is a graduate of Anaheim Union High school and of Fullerton Junior college. He attended Bellflower schools and has served with the U.S. Navy for four years. Mr. and Mrs. Robert E. Herring are at home as of today, June 16, at 621 Sabina St., Apt. A. Mrs. Herring is the former Mrs. Matilda Taylor and marriage vows were said in the Rolla F. Taylor home at 1626 Redwood St. The coupled honeymooned at Big Bear Lake. HOOSIER PICNIC The Indiana State Society will hold their annual picnic June 26 in Bixby Park, in Long Beach. Basket dinner at noon. The Municipal band will play beginning at the Castle. BOY FOR GILLETTES A boy weighing 7 pounds, 5 ounces was born May 20, to Mrs. Geraldine H. Gillette, wife of Maynard F. Gillette, hospital corpsman second class, USN, at the Naval hospital in Guam, Mariana Islands. IN-3 NEW FILMS Julie Adams, whose late film for Universal-International is "The Looters," has two more ready for her fans. "The Private War of Majesty" she'll star with Charlton Heston, and in "One Daisy" she'll star with Rooh Hudson and Anne Baxter. GRADUATES IN WISCONSIN Dirk French, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl French, 752 Paulina Anaheim, was among the class of 150 seniors to receive bachelor's degrees from Lawrence College Appleton, Wis., at its 106th commencement exercises June 12. The MYF of White Temple Methodist church are now entaining three summer guests for Hawaii. They are Margaret Maughan, Kenneth Kargama. James B. Wray passes at Age 87 James B. Wray, 87, a native Alabama who moved to Aransas early in life, died Sunday morning at the Orange County hospital after an extended illness. Came to California nine years and for six years has made home with his son at 944 N. Madina street. He is survived by one son, Jesse A. Wray of Anaheim; four children and six great-grandchildren. He was a member of the Baptist Church. Mineral service was conducted on Hilgenfeld chapel, Tuesday, 2 o'clock. Rev. Alto W. James, pastor of the Bethany Full Gospel church officiated.
