Sunday 9 A.M. to 6 CEREBRAL PALSY POSTMAN'S WALK NEXT TUESDAY As has been the custom of the postal carriers over the entire country, the annual Postman's Walk for the purpose of raising funds for Cerebral Palsy work will be held next Tuesday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. Judge John Shea, the chairman for the 1955 fund drive, stated that postmen on city and rural routes over the entire county will trace their paths on their own time and out of uniform on behalf of the palsy victims. Postmen will stop for donations at all homes which have porch lights turned on as a signal of willingness to donate. Since the men will be out of uniform they will be wearing Cerebral Palsy identification badges. Much research work is being done in behalf of palsy victims and, as in the Polio Fund drives, 75 per cent of the money collected remains in the county to be used for patients and their care and the remaining 25 per cent goes to the national foundation for research. It can—and does strike any one, of any age, any color and creed, at any time in life. It could strike your neighbor, or your child—and it could strike even you. There is no known preventive, no known cure, but many of the Nation's 550,000 and Orange county's 700 CPs: can overcome the disability aid to help them do it, the United Cerebral Palsy of Orange county is now conducting a campaign to establish and carry out therapy and workshop programs to enable those afflicted to become self-sustaining and fit into society. Cerebral palsy is an insidious condition against which there is no insurance.
