She was assisted in entertaining children from the Carl Harvey School, Santa Ana, by the following committee chairmen; Karen Brand, decorations; Zoe Fort, Easter baskets; June Jungkei) refreshments; and Clara Walker, entertainment. The Friendship club of Zion Lutheran church sponsored an early morning breakfast at the church on Easter with Leslie Buck as chairman. New Sales Record Set by G.M. Cars Retail sales of new General Motors passenger cars during the first quarter of 1955 were the highest of any quarter of GM history, and March sales set a new record for a single month, Harlow H. Currice, president, announced today. Currice also announced these other new GM-sales records: New cars—sales during the last 10 days of March were the highest for any ten-day period in history. Used cars—March sales set a new one-month high; sales during the last 10 days of the month were the highest for any 10-day period; sales for the first quarter set a new first-quarter record. Each of GM's five passenger car divisions—Chevrolet, Pontiac, Opti-Mrs. Club Hall Installation Party The newly formed Opti-Mrs. club attended an installation party of their sponsor, the Opti-Mrs. club of Fullerton at the Watertown Wheel restaurant. Mrs. Lestle Oldsmobile, Buick and Cadillac set new first-quarter sales records for new cars. "The public demand for General Motors' passenger lines is the strongest ever experienced and points toward a record year for the corporation and dealers," Currice said.
