She returned to her home in Los Angeles on the evening train. Miss Maud Mickle has accepted a position at the central telephone exchange, taking the place formerly held by Miss Bell Lyon, who has removed with her family to Los Angeles. Mrs. George Armbruster has purchased from Jos. Dauser the residence of the latter at the corner of Center and Palm streets, consideration being $2,500. Mrs. Armbruster has relatives in Anaheim and will make her home here. Mr. Dauser will move into his new home in the next block. Miss Sophie Schindler has taken a position at the candy kitchen, filling the place formerly occupied by Miss Alice Elchhorn, who has removed to Los Angeles. The Fullerton Breeders Association has been organized with the following officers: B. F. Porter, president; B. Dauser, treasurer; W. A. Boucher, secretary. Directors: R. H. Gilman, P. December, 1879 A glance at the various stores in town shows no lack of goods appropriate to the holiday season. Mr. A. Langenberger displays a fine lot of fancy glass and chinaware, than which nothing is more appropriate for presents. Mr. Hipolyte Cahen has in addition to the usual fine line of fancy goods, a fresh lot of toys from which every taste can be pleased. Mr. P. Pellegrin will furnish everything in the jewelry line as well as Mr. R. Luedke, who also has a fine lot of toys. The large furniture store of the Messrs. Backs contains numerous articles which will prove acceptable gifts. In the millinery stores of Mrs. Brown and Miss Wallace are articles of wear that would make pleasant gifts to ladies. Mr. M. A. Mendel- and Rimpau received a flair sortment of useful holiday articles suitable for a present a small outlay of money at these reliable places of business. The big sunflower, which about Anaheim so densely luxuriantly, is not, as many pose, utterly worthless. Contrary, the seed is used generally for chicken feed; the fowls are found to fatter it to a greater degree than other feeds. In some of the trian provinces where the flower grows as densely the seeds are used to feed after the first pressure oil which is used for salad an anti-malaria agent the flower is most valuable. J. W. Ricks, a man whered an affecting temperature in the Anaheim Presby Church, some years ago, leased from San Quentin last week where he was sent sentence for bigamy. He ceded his release by getting and was promptly arrested. Mr. Jacob Walker of A Landing, was in town thinking with a load of splendid fish. He had some flounder weighed all the way from pounds each. Jan. 12, 1955 Foster's ranch in San Diego county. attorneys for defendant in the case of Smith vs. Penny in which judgment was given in favor of Penny, and they secured still another victory in the District Court. No lawyers in the county meet with greater success than do Scott and Montgomery. L. H. Price of Verdugo Canyon, picked up his coat and threw it on the wagon seat. In the pocket of the coat was a revolver which was discharged at it struck the seat and the ball entered Price's breast inflicting a wound which may be fatal. Just before we went to press this afternoon, Mr. Theodore Reiser received a telegram from Los Angeles conveying the sad intelligence of the death of F. W. Koll, after a lingering illness. Mr. Koll will be buried by Anaheim Lodge F. and A.M., of which he was a member. The body will reach Anaheim by special train Sunday morning, accompanied by friends of deceased. The funeral will take place from the Masonic hall about 12 o'clock and all are invited to be present without further solicitation.
