Mrs. Anna Fischer De Freese,
daughter of John Fischer, one of the Colonists who founded Anaheim, died at the Methodist hospital in Los Angeles at 7 o'clock yesterday morning at the age of 69 years. Mrs. De Freese, who was born in 1860, enjoyed the distinction of being the first American child born in Anaheim. Her father, John Fischer, was prominent in the business affair of the town in the early days of its existence.

When you want
When you want
-You're
No ifs, ands or buts about it.
When you give the gun to a 1955 Buick with Dynaflow Drive,* you move.
In the instant you push down the pedal, you get the action you've called for—immediate getaway from a standing start, or immediate safety-surge out of a tight spot on the highway.
It's not magic, this thrilling and pulse-quickening response—though it feels like the closest thing to it.
It's a principle of the modern airplane, brought for the first time to an automotive transmission.
Twenty "variable pitch propellers" inside the Dynaflow unit itself can change their angle—like the of the airliner can change from take-off position to position.
And what this brings to your wheel of a '55 Buick—is the thing to flight on wheels. Gas mileage in your normal and cruising. Spectacular when you want it for quick or emergency acceleration.

This statement Madame has denied. The famous actress recently received an offer from Grau
for a thirty-weeks' season in the eastern vaudeville houses to give
sleep-walking scene from "Macbeth" at a salary of $1750 per week.

Telephone man gets 20-year service pin from air line. Since 1931, Pacific Telephone Switchboard Installer Jim Bailey, left, has worked on most every telephone job at United Air Lines' San Francisco office. The people there say they've become so used to Jim's good work and quick smile that they think of him as one of their group. As a result, they recently awarded him one of their 20-year employees' service pins. We believe Jim's pretty typical of all telephone installers. For your "Telephone Man" works to do the best possible job, to bring you the good low-cost service you like...and does it with a smile. Pacific Telephone works to make your telephone a bigger value every day.
