Local Tennis Club Honors HS Team
When the Anaheim tennis club met recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Klise on So. Illinois street, members who represented Anaheim Union High school at the recent 26th annual Fullerton inter-scholastic tennis championship were honored. They defeated 31 other schools to bring the trophy to Anaheim for the first time. Team members were Mike Bonck, Barry Ryan, (finalist), Steve Morris, Jean Williams (finalist), Pat Roberts, Kathy Hathoway, and Carolyn Kirvin.
Floyd Baker presided and announced that elections of new officers would be held at the January meeting. Club advisor, Mrs. Bob Williams, led a discussion of coming tournaments which members may enter, including the mid-city tournament at the famed Racquet club shortly after Christmas.
A social hour followed in the Klise rumpus room and refreshments were served.
Kwikset Orators Speak-off Tonight
At the most recent meeting of the Kwikset Toastmasters club, a clean sweep of prizes was made by Bob Messett. He won cups for the best table topics story and for the best speech of the evening. This evening (Dec. 16) the following members will represent the club in the area speakoff: Joe Rainman, Andy Unetic, Walter Miller, Bob Messett and Doug Shaw.

Junior Ebell Busy With Yule Festivities
Members of the Junior Ebell society enjoyed a program of Christmas music on Tuesday, Dec. 7, when they gathered at the clubhouse for the December meeting. The Santa Ana Junior College Swing Choir sang under the direction of Gordon R. Wheatley, Jr.The membership joined in singing "Silent Night" at the close of the program.
President, Mrs. Virgil Daoust announced final plans for the annual children's Christmas party. It is to be held at the clubhouse at 10 a.m., Dec. 21. Announcement was also made that the Senior Ebell society will honor the Juniors at the January meeting.
Poinsettas and red and silver ornaments decorated the tea tables as Mrs. Charles Bush and
Mrs. Mark Stephenson presided at one and Mrs. Virgil Daoust and Mrs. George Flower at the other.
The tea committee was as follows: Mrs. John Ganahl, chairman assisted by Mmes. Maxwell Doyle, Robert Rosborough, Leonard Bouas Wilbur Wright, Robert Benno, James Whieldon, Russel Townsend, Edwin Tyreman, Leo Bjelland, Henry Cottile, Paul Goswiller, William Horn, Martin Miller, Robert Pitcher, Robert Hinrichs and Miss Marian Waters.
St. Boniface School Parents Meeting
Sister Mary Peter, principal of St. Boniface Parish school, spoke at the regular parents' meeting yesterday at the parish hall. She said that school will officially close for Christmas vacation tomorrow (Dec. 17), and will reopen Jan. 3. Students are to see a pre-view of the seventh grade's presentation, "The First Christmas Crib," tomorrow and it will be presented to parents on Dec. 17 at 7 p.m., in the parish hall. The annual barrel of groceries and turkey will be given away that evening.
Mrs. George Wickers and Mrs. Charles Mumper led the sixth grade mothers in serving refreshments at yesterday's meeting.
