CHARDING'S ANNOUNCEMENT DAUGHTER'S ENGAGEMENT Mr. and Mrs. Al Giardino, 211 W. Wilhelmina street, announce the engagement of their daughter, Delores, to Fernando Ramos, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rafael Ramos of 708 S. Philadelphia street. Miss Giardino, a graduate of Anaheim Union High school, is well known as a vocal soloist. Her fiance, a Fullerton Junior college graduate, will begin a pre-medical course at the University of Southern California in January. The couple plan to wed late next fall. Carl T. Ostrander Carl T. Ostrander passed away at his home, 729 S. Helena St. He was 71 years of age; born in Wisconsin. He has been a resident of Anaheim for one year. Surviving him is his wife, Loretta E., and two sons, Kermit of Anaheim, and Carlton of Oregon. He was a member of Daylight Lodge No. 332 of Seattle, Wash. Funeral services were held in the chapel of Backs, Campbell & Kaulbars. Rev. A. J. Casebeer, officiated. Interment was made in Fairhaven cemetery. MARYWOOD SCHOOL HOLD BENEFIT DINNER Mrs. John A. Larson was recently hostess at a meeting of the ways and means committee of the Marywood School auxiliary to work on plans for a benefit dinner on December 4. Mrs. Larson and Mrs. Victor Peltzer were co-chairmen to raise money to purchase robes for the Glee club. Mrs. E. F. Caln was made decoration chairman and Mrs. Frank M. Reah street, ward of Robert Smith of Anaheim, became the bride of John Joseph Ladig, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Ladig of 613 E. Wilhelmina street. The 8 o'clock ceremony took place in the First Presbyterian church. Miss Smith was lovely in a white satin wedding gown with cathedral train as she was given in marriage by her grandfather, Jacob Dierberger. A half crown of seed pearls held a fingertip veil, and she carried a bouquet of white orchids and carnations. The bride's three sisters were in attendance. Miss Beverly Smith as maid of honor was gowned in a yellow waltz length formal and carried yellow carnations. Bridesmaids, the Misses Joyce and Joan Smith, wore matching gowns of tourquoise of shrimp pink respectively, and carried matching bouquets of carnations. As flower girls, little Misses Sharon Narath and Nola Ladig were gowned in lavender and green. Ring bearer was William Ladig, III. William Ladig, Jr., attended his brother as best man. Usher们 were Earl Dierberger and James Jiles. A reception in the church social hall followed the ceremony, and the new Mr. and Mrs. Ladig departed soon after for a four-day honeymoon in Idyllwild. Mrs. Willia Ladig, Jr., was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Wesley Dierberger and Mrs. George Dierberger, aunt of the bride, assisted with the serving. Dec. 9, 1954 THETA NU SORORITY RECEIVE CONGRATULATIONS Twenty-two charter members of the newly-formed honorary business sorority, Theta Nu, met with their advisor, Mrs. Agnes Criss of the Criss Business college recently to draft a charter and by-laws. Marjorie Banks of Fullerton presided. More than 100 notes and cards of congratulations were exhibited. Ways and Means chairman, Rosemary Mosgrove outlined tentative plans for raising funds for club activities. Betty Russell invited the group to her Fullerton home on Dec. 20 for a Christmas party social. ZION FELLOWSHIP PLAN GROUP CHRISTMAS PARTY Charles McGinnis presided at the recent meeting of the Fellowship club of Zion Lutheran church at the parish hall. Mrs. E. H. Pflug and Mrs. Howard Russell were in charge of the games. Members voted to bring food gifts for a needy family to the Christmas party Dec. 17 when Mr. and Mrs. August Heybrock will host to the group at their home. On Dec. 1, a daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Altman of 712 Hawthorne St., in St. Joseph hospital and weighed 6 lbs. 9½ ounces.
