SUMMER WEDDING PLANNED BY ALICE JENANEAL REEVES Plans for a wedding in the late summer are being made by Miss Alice Jeaneal Reeves of Anaheim and Richard Wayne Wilson of Long Beach. The announcement of their betrothal has just been made by the bride-elect's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Reeves of 414 N. Emily street. GOING TO GIRLS' STATE Miss Gloria Taylor, a junior at Anaheim Union High school, left yesterday (June 23) to attend Girls' State in Sacramento as an official delegate from Orange county to the American Legion sponsored event. She will participate in a two-weeks training program in government at the capitol. Anaheim Ebell Gavel Club Forms The Gavel Club of Anaheim Ebell, newly formed "club" with a club" composed of past-presidents of the organization, held the first regular meeting last week at the Newport Beach home of Mrs. Lucille Wilson. Seventeen past presidents participated in a brief business meeting and devoted the remainder of the afternoon to informal fun and conversation. The club has been organized along cultural, social and civic interest lines in keeping with the general policies of the Ebell society and will meet at least twice yearly, Chosen to head the organization are Mrs. Florence P. Spencer, president; Mrs. Marie Roquet, vice-president; and Mrs. Cora Webb, secretary-treasurer. Last week's meeting was preceded by luncheon at theee Chef's Inn. YOUR NEAREST SAFEWAY Mrs. Bertha Gomez Recitation of the Holy Rosary at the Hilgenfeld Chapel was held on Sunday evening for Bertha Reyna Gomez who died unexpectedly last Thursday morning at the home of her daughter at 1512 W. Center street. She is survived by her husband, Fernando Gomez of Santa Paula; one son, Gilbert Luna of Long Beach; three daughters, Mrs. Philip Hernandez of Anaheim, Mrs. Rubina Luna and Miss Catalina Gomez both of Santa Paula, and twelve grandchildren. Mass was read at St. Boniface church at 9 o'clock Monday morning and burial followed in Holy Sepulcher cemetery. HARVEY R. WALK IS PROMOTED AT BANK The board of directors of the Union Bank and Trust Co., has just announced the promotion to assistant-cashier of Harvey R. Walk of 2151 Catalpa Ave., Anaheim.
