Summer Wedding Planned by Elks' Office Secretary Mr. and Mrs. Orman Harlow of 306 E. Broadway, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Dorothy, to Wilbur Herman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Herman of 940 N. Palm street. Miss Harlow is a graduate of Anaheim schools and is currently employed as office secretary at the Anaheim Elks club. Her fiance also attended Anaheim schools and is associated with the General Electric Co., in Anaheim. A wedding is planned for early summer. MARRIED LAST WEEK Miss Carol Joanne Presutti of 11921 Santa Rosalia Street, last week became the bride of Donnie L. Kear of Norwalk. Joseph Moisi Sr. Joseph M. Moisi, Sr., 69, a native of Navarra, Italy, and a resident of the Anaheim-Olive area since 1900, died in St. Joseph hospital April 23. He is survived by two sons, Joseph Jr., of Anaheim and Tom of San Gabriel. Also one daughter, Mrs. Annie Cerdero, of Olive, and seven grandchildren. Recitation of the Holy Rosary was held in the chapel of Backs, Campbell & Kaulbars, Tuesday, at 7:30 p.m. Requiem High mass was conducted in St. Boniface church. Wednesday at 9 a.m. Interment was in Holy Sepulcher cemetery. WCTU COUNTY PRESIDENT SPEAKS HERL MONDAY The Anaheim branch at the Women's Christian Temperance Union will meet in the home of Mrs. Flora DeWitt, 415 S. Helena, Monday May 3. Mrs. Catherine Marshburn, county president, will speak. County 4-H Fair Slated for May 6 Highlighting their year's activities for many 4-H members is the County 4-H Club Fair, Saturday May 8 at Orange County Flower Grounds, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Premium lists are being studied and entry blanks filled out for agricultural project exhibits. Judging of clothing and food in the morning and a dress view after lunch are the events for the 4-H homemaking members. All garments modeled in the dress review are cloth items the girls have made in the 4-H project work. Agriculture entries will be mailed and varied. Beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, swine, horses, rabbit poultry, honey, vegetables, electric items are to be exhibited all raised or made by 4-H members. Gather 'round for good eating! Langer, Mrs. Harold Mack, Mrs. Clem Heinz, Mrs. Jack Shinn and Mrs. Charles Barnard. $238,500 FOR NEW GRANTS A fund of $238,500 for new grants to advance the teaching of science in universities and colleges has recently brought the Du Pont Company's aid-to-education program to a total of more than $700,000 to be distributed for fellowships and grants during the 1954-1955 academic year. The awards go to selected institutions, with decisions on detailed use of the funds left up to them. PATRICIA NOLAN AWARDED MEDAL In a competition in which more than 2000 students participated Patricia Nolan of Marywood was second place and was awarded medal for her portrayal of Dionna from "Othello" in the annual Shakespeare Festival held Saturday on the campus of Lola University. Members of Marywood drama department presented "As You Like It," a received a second place award. In this group were Misssea Rolie Flynn, Marilyn Thomas, Virginia Stehly, Irene Nitti, all Anaheim, and Miss Angel Kramer Placentia. The Marywood players are directed by Gwen Holly Simpson head of the drama department.
