Bonkosky Salesman PHONES Office KE 5-6072 KE 5-6071 Residence KE 5-2079 Anaheim Area Sub-Divider Opens News Offices Here The opening of new offices for the handling of sub-divisions in the Anaheim Area was announced this week by Fred C. Piepenbrink, well-known Anaheim Realtor, formerly located at 124 W. Broadway. The new offices are located at 148 E. Center Street in the new Bank of America building recently completed. Piepenbrink's offices are in the same section of the building that houses the General Insurance Office of Dirk Bode. They are situated in the west end of the new bank edifice. In the past Piepenbrink has dealt in real estate in all categories but has specialized in the handling of sub-divisions in the Anaheim area. During the past two years he has purchased more than 121 acres of orange groves in this region and sub-divided them for development as residential sites. These have been sold to approved tract builders and developers. He has lived in Anaheim since 1909, went to local schools, and married Edith Parks in Wyoming in 1923, who was in the ready-to-wear business about 10 years including her latest shop in Garden Grove in 1952. He has a married daughter, born in Anaheim, Mrs. Robert Lutes of 202 Cliffrose St., Anaheim. For some 20 years he owned and operated orange groves in or adjacent to Anaheim but he has sold all such grove holdings for subdivision use. He sounded that the death knell for the orange growing business in the Anaheim region, is being heard. Oranges On Way Out Grainger has lived in Fullerton for the past 27 years where he attended school, graduating from Fullerton Junior College. He is also a past president of the Fullerton 20-30 Club and belongs to the Fullerton Masonic Lodge No. 339 of the F. & A. M. Bonkosky resides in Anaheim with his mother, Mrs. William Bonkosky, at 600 West Center Street. He attended local schools and is a graduate of Whittier College and UCLA, and is a member of Anaheim Lodge No. 1345 of the B. P. O. Elks. He served as a corporal in the Army Airforce at Hickham Field, Hawaii and was at one time in the pest control business in Anaheim with his father. For nine years Bonkosky served as deputy county tax assessor and deputy city tax assessor and in the latter office he served as chief deputy assessor during the illness of City Assessor Harry Jayne. Since 1952 he has been with the Alameda County tax assessor's office. Plepenbrink said. "The land has become too valuable as industrial or residential sites and with the rapid development of this region as a residential area for larger industrial cities such as Los Angeles and Long Beach it will not be long before all the orange groves are rooted out." Plepenbrink is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Boards, the California Realtors and the Anaheim Realtors. He has served as public relations chairman for the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce and on its housing committee for the past two years and is a member of Anaheim Lodge No. 1345, B. O. Elks. He was one of the prime movers in the placing of "Welcome Way" signs boosting Anaheim and had a big part in the program of placing the huge 8 by 20-foot entrance signs now being erected. Associated with him in subdivision sales are Craig Grainger and Edward W. Bonkosky. Grainger has been with the Plepenbrink organization for four years and assisted in the sale of the 50-acre orange grove on the east side of town at Placentia and East Center streets that is now known as the Bonded Homes tract. to Dirk Bode and Fred Riepenbrink For beautiful GOLD LEAF LETTERING such as you will see on the windows of their beautiful new offices NU-ART NEON SIGN CO.
