Slated as the first major civic event of 1954 sponsored by the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce, the Anaheim Housing Panel, presenting outstanding authorities in their respective fields, will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 4 at the Anaheim Elks Club, 423 N. Oil Co. Donates To St. Jude Fund The St. Jude Hospital building fund received a $500 donation from the Home Oil Company, 1422 West Broadway, Anaheim, today, according to an announcement by Edward S. Hawkins, chairman of the St. Jude Hospital fund committee of Anaheim. The gift was made by R. J. Grange, manager of the Home Oil Company. The company is a distributor of Tide-Water Associated products in this area and employs about 25 people. As the presentation was made, Hawkins expressed his appreciation for the contribution and called for more gifts on this and other levels of giving. "It is generous donations of this Leave Front Plates on Car Do not remove the front plate from your car after renewing your vehicle registration for 1954. This urgent warning was issued to California motorists today by Paul Mason, State Director of Motor Vehicles. He said reports have reached him that some car owners have removed the front plates from their vehicles after securing the single 1954 tab which must be attached to the rear license plate, as required in a new law. In previous years the Department of Motor Vehicles issued a pair of renewal tabs for attachment to both front and rear plates. "In all directions issued by the department for 1954 renewal," Mason said, "the requirement that the single tab be attached to the rear plate, and the front plate be retained in place on the vehicle, has been emphasized. In addition, traffic law enforcement agencies urge that the 1953 tab be removed from the front plate, leaving the figure '51' showing." Pioneer Resident Buried Saturday An Anaheim resident for 34 years, Louis Palm, passed away in his home 1620 S. Spadra Rd., Jan. 27. He was born in N. Dakota in 1884. He is survived by his wife, Lea Palm of Anaheim, four sons, Julius, of Long Beach; Arthur of Long Island, N. Y.; Louis of Anaheim and James T. Palm of Santa Ana. Also two daughters, Miss Rose Palm, Fullerton, and Mrs. Margaret Tram, of Anaheim; seven grandchildren; four brothers, Peter and Carl Palm of Anaheim. Miller, 86, a native of Tennessee, a California resident for 42 years, and who has lived in Anaheim for 35 years died (Wednesday) night. She was busy in her yard yesterday at 412 N. Emily street and relatives came to the home this morning and discovered the body. She is survived by two sons, Wm. Newton Miller of Anaheim and Joe C. Miller of Long Beach; one daughter, Mrs Pearl Minogue of Santa Ana; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from the Hilgenfeld chapel Saturday at 2 o'clock and burial will be made in the family plot in Loma Vista Memorial park. VALENTINE TEA HELD Residents of the Lutheran Home for the Aged were entertained at a Valentine tea and musical when members of the Christian Life Guilds of Zion Lutheran church held their recent meeting there.
