PICNICS
DUBUQUE BRAND, SHORT SHANK.
4- lo 8-lbs. in size. CURED FROM
EASTERN GRAIN-FED PORK.
Science Film at White Temple Sun.
A natural-color 50-minute motion picture, "The Prior Claim," depicting such wonders of scienfic discovery as the ball-turret
eyes of a chameleon, an elephant
seal which suffers stomach ulcers,
a snake equipped with its own
"sniper-scope" or thermal recepters, a diving spider which makes
its own diving-bell, and a bird
which flies like a helicopter, will
be shown at the White Temple
Methodist church of Anaheim, on
Sunday evening at seven o'clock.
"The Prior Claim" is the sixth
in the famed "Sermons from Science" series of documentary films being produced by the Moody Institute of Science, and the third
such film to be shown at White
Temple. These films, with sound
tracks in fourteen languages, are
shown all over the world, and
have proved especially popular
with servicemen. The entire motion picture is in brilliant natural
color, and through the searching
eyes of the camera it ferrets out
stranger facts than fiction dreams
of. The public is invited.
At both the 9 and 11 o'clock morning worship services, Rev.
Frank E. Butterworth will preach on "A Superstition for Moderns."

Marketing Official To Address Farm Bureau Rabbit Men
Next Wednesday's meeting of the rabbit department of the Farm Bureau, slated for 6:30 potluck and program following will afford rabbit growers the opportunity to hear an outstanding authority on marketing problems, in the Farm Bureau Hall, Orange.
According to William Oglesby, Riverside, State chairman for the Rabbit Department of the Farm Bureau, Louis A. Wass, Arlington, representative of the State Bureau of Markets and a state organization director of the Southern California Turkey Promotion Advisory board, is slated to address the group. In event he cannot, Oglesby declares another speaker, one of the eight directors will certainly be there.
Wass recently addressed a State Farm Board meeting showing "what has been done for the turkey consumption may also be done in the rabbit consumption."
Just the methods of procedure will be the highlight of next Wednesday evening's meeting. Coffee and rolls will be furnished, and a valuable door prize offered.

AUHS Course in French Available
Absent for the Anaheim Union High school curriculum for seven years. French language study may return next year, if tentative plans materialize. French, last taught at AUHS during the 1946-47 school year, will be offered in 1954-55 if there is sufficient demand for it.
Because of its cultural value, and the frequency with which it is required as part of the training for vocations, restoration of French to the curriculum has been considered. Up until the present the number of students interested has been too small to justify setting up a class. However, it appears likely that the required minimum enrollment of 25 students may be reached during the pre-registration program now in progress.
If offered next year, Jack Copenhaver, one of the two new instructors added to the language department this year at AUHS will teach it.
