Cakes for Servicemen The Methodist Youth Fellowship of White Temple Methodist church is sending a holiday fruit cake to each of the 25 servicemen from White Temple Methodist church. The cakes were baked in the church kitchen by the youth group. Jr. Study Club Elects Officers Mrs. George N. Swafford Jr. was named president of the Magnolia Junior Study club at the latest-meeting in the home of Mrs. Arthur Hartelt, 8851 Gilbert St. Her cabinet will include Mrs. Robert Ramm, vice president; Mrs. Herbert Grimm, secretary; Mrs. Ruth Reith, treasurer, and Mrs. Donald F. Hein, historian. The program time was spent in exchanging holiday ideas and plans were made to carry out the annual Christmas welfare program. Six children who are lodged in private homes as wards of the state will be supplied with clothing and given Christmas gifts. Assisting Mrs. Hartelt at refreshment time were Mrs. John Murdock, Mrs. Bob Merriman and Mrs. Louis O. Palm. Each member received a tiny turkey flavor to commemorate the Thanksgiving season. Marywood Mothers Have Card Party Autumn leaves and gay holiday decorations graced St. Boniface hall last week for the benefit card party sponsored by the Marywood Mothers' Auxiliary. Chairman for the affair was Mrs. Fred Lampher. The decorating was done by Mrs. Don May. Industrial Nurses Tour Cherry Rivet The November meeting of the Orange County Industrial Nurse association was held at the Townsend Co. Cherry Rivet Plant at Santa Ana. Industrial relations manager Stanley Bates outlined the history of Cherry Rivet and escorted the group through the plant: Lela Woodhouse presided at the business meeting which was attended by representatives of the nursing staffs of Industrial plants throughout Orange county. Nielsen, Mrs. William A. Sutherland. Live Steamers Hold Meeting In Placentia The Tri-County Live Steam co-held a recent meeting at Rail Bury's Northern Pacific headquarters in Placentia. Fourteen minutes toured the elaborate four-track main line which is a tomatically controlled by a remote item of switches operated at a central point. Among the tiny steamers we two Northern type, three Hudson types, one Prairie and one Owl swimmer, as well as 50 rail cars. Many more were on display. The novelty of the afternoon wagon a three-foot steam tug boat, raft controlled, capable of traveling miles per hour while pulling fences people in a row boat on the water.
