A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Victor Encinas of 9342 W. Katella ave., on Monday. The infant weighed 7 lbs., 13 oz. when she arrived in Orange County hospital.
Congratulations are in order for Mr. and Mrs. Richard Winder, 1026 Tenth st. They became the parents of a 7 lb., 12 oz. son in Orange County hospital on Tuesday.

Robert L. Knapp Dies at Ranch
Robert L. Knapp, 56, a native of Sarrie, Canada, resident of Anaheim since a child and over 50 years in this area, died suddenly Nov. 12 while working on his anch at 11171 West street. Latef is wife, searching for hm, found the body.
He is survived by his wife, Elcora B. Knapp; one daughter, Carolyn D. Curran, Orange; one sister, Mrs. May K. Dorr, Eagle Rock, two brothers, J. Allen Knapp, Garden Grove and Elmer C. Knapp of Anaheim; also one grandson, Robert Curran of Orange.
He was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church of Anaheim. Rev. Alexander McCandless, pastor, officiated at funeral services held Saturday morning at Hilgenfeld chapel. Burial followed in the family plot in Loma Vista Memorial park.

Skaqqs Serves On Honor Guard
BERLIN — Army Pvt. Joe D. Skaggs, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Skaggs, 6541 Hansen st., Buena Park, Calif., served on the special welcoming guard for U.. Ambassador to Great Britain, Winthrop W. Aldrich, and U.S. High Commissioner for Germany, Dr. James B. Conant, when they visited Berlin last month.
The guard from the 6th Infantry Regiment's Company L participated in a review and then stood watch over the Berlin headquarters during an important conference.
Private Skaggs, a rifleman, arrived overseas this September after completing basic training at Camp Roberts, Calif. He entered the Army in March.
Katella Farmers Elect Officers

Katella Farmers Elect Officers
At a recent meeting at Katella school, the following officers were elected to lead the boys division of the Katella Farmers 4-H club: Dennis Schlagel, president; Don Schnitger, vice-president; Bill Hammatt, secretary; Albert Smith, treasurer and August Fluegge, sergeant-at-arms.
This is the first season that the boys and girls are holding joint meetings. Agricultural projects, recreation, and home-making arts are among the subjects slated for study this year. Club leader is Y. F. Hammatt assisted by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Basse and Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Jeanerett.
