Fred Frank, a graduate of Anaheim Union High school was elected president of the Freshman class at Fullerton Junior college in elections held last Friday.
Named to offices with him were Don Blagg of Ojal, vice-president; Yvonne Miller of Fullerton, a Marywood High school graduate, secretary; and Ron Mankin of Whittier, treasurer. The latter defeated Bob Owston of Anaheim for the office.
At AUHS, Frank was a member of Hi-Y, Toastmasters, Commercial club, Colonist Knights and the Varsity club. He played leading roles in several musical productions and appeared in Christmas plays and assemblies. He participated in football, basketball and

Anne Miller of Fullerton, High school graduate, and Ron Mankin of treasurer. The latter de-obtained Owston of Anaheim office. Frank was a member Toastmasters, Commer-Colonist Knights and the club. Miss Miller was a class officer at Marywood, was a member of the drama club, the student council and Girls' Athletic Association, and she appeared in the Senior play last year.
After a short stay in Community hospital, Mrs. Walter Haas of 11941 Santa Rosalia st. is at home now with a baby son that was born on Oct. 21. The baby welghed 8 lbs., 12 oz.

NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS
Sealed proposals will be received at the office of the State Highway Engineer, Room 408, Division of Highways Building, 120 South Spring Street, Los Angeles, California, until 2 o'clock p.m. on Friday November 15, 1953, at which time they will be publicly opened and read in Room 2 of said building for roadside development of State Highway in accordance with the specifications therefor, to which special reference is made as follows:
Orange County, between 0.25 mile west of Los Angeles Street and Lewis Street (VII-Ora-2,174-D.A), about 0.9 miles in length, roadside areas to be prepared and planned.
Bids are required for the entire work described herein.
In accordance with the provision of Section 1770 of the Labor Code, the Department of Public Works has ascertained the general prevailing rate of wages applicable to the work to be done as follows:
