FOR FACTORY, FUN, AND FORMAL— Saturday afternoon was fashion time as these chic young Anaheim Norcrafters modeled the latest fashion creations for fall at the Lakewood Country club. The event was sponsored by the Women's Dinner club of the Anaheim plant under the auspices of the Northrop-Anaheim Recreation club, another in a series of recreational, educational and social functions sponsored by N. R. C. The event was sponsored by the Women's Dinner Club Pattye Cooley, and Julia Richison. Norcrafters Model Newest Fall Fashions At Lakewood Dinner Club Style Show The newest fall fashions were displayed by the audience as well as by selected models when the Northrop Recreation Womens' club presented a fall fashion show at the Lakewood Country club Saturday afternoon. An exciting array of finery was modeled by Norcrafter ladies as "fall fashions for factory; fun and formal—with a slant to the male" set the theme for the sparkling luncheon dansant which was enjoyed by 150 Norcrafters and their guests. The ballroom was gaily decorated with flame red gladioli as the ladies and their gentlemen assembled at individual tables at 1 p.m. The music of Chuck Keeley and his orchestra enticed couples to the dance floor throughout the afternoon. Favors for the hearty turkey luncheon were miniature vials of perfums, courtesy of Buffums of Long Beach and Santa Ana. As master of ceremonies, Hal Chanslor, supervisor of Personnel Activities, initiated the entertainment with lively piano selections and accompanied Ray Vasquez as he sang several romantic ballads. Spirited applause and cries of "encore" proved their popularity. Fashion Showing The suitability of different shades of grey in the 1953 wardrobe was amply demonstrated as the fashion showing got underway. Mrs. M. F. Spencer as narrator of fashions called attention to the intriguing details of clothes supplied by Tibbetts of Fullerton, Whittier, and Bakersfield. One of the most popular combinations was an accent of clear, bright red with the grey when fall suits, sheath dresses, and the coordinated "ensemble look" claimed of the Anaheim plant under the auspices of the Northrop-Anaheim Recreation club, another in a series of recreational, educational and social functions sponsored by N. R. C. Models shown above from left are: Val Vasquez, Jeannette Myers, Virginia Huff, Pat Rae, Julia Richison and Val Vasquez. Their hair styling was done by Fair Lady of Fullerton. Giving a royal touch to the festivities was Esther Friesen as she modeled a handsome Jewelled tiara by Joseff's of Hollywood. Following the fashion showing, Master of Ceremonies Hal Chanslor again took over the microphone to introduce special guests and to supervise the drawing of door prizes for men and women. Busy Ladies General chairman of the delightful social event was Mary Ellen Stine, and her committee heads were as follows: Ardis Adams, coordinator of fashions; Gladys Carson, reservations; Dorothy Fisher, press guests; Esther Friesen, tickets at the door; Margaret Grinde, door prizes; Ella Mae Morris, decorations; Doris "Sam" Miller, invitations and program; Mary Polk, hostesses; Julia Richison, hair styling; Julie Spa, ticket design and distribution, and Nona Traylor, wardrobe. The tastefully illustrated invitations which summoned all Anaheim Norcrafters to the party were done by Northrop illustrator, Warren Baird. Assemblyman Amerige of Fullerton leaves soon for an extended visit with relatives in Malden and Boston, Mass.
