He asked for volunteer solicitors to work toward the success of the current fund-raising drive and showed a 20-minute film of Community Chest work in Orange county so that YLI members might have a better understanding of its function. The program was enjoyed by a good attendance of regular members and by special guests Helen Krom, Institute deputy and her mother, Mrs. Catherine Garrett, both of Corpus Christi institute, Fullerton. Mrs. Krom spoke on the feast for the month of September and recited a fitting prayer. She suggested that members make a study of the Human Rights program being considered by the United Nations so that they will understand in Youth Building, the association unanimously to go with the Chamber of Commerce working through committee educational program this year Hallowe’en instead of their earlier “trick or treat.” Paul superintendent of the A.A.E elementary schools, reportedly on the progress of play this year’s Hallowe’en. Gertrude Carter, chairman of Foreign Missions, reminded the members to save all their cotton scans for her. These will be sent to her sister in the Solomon Islands to be used by the natives to make quilts.
