Payne-Calaway Nuptials Solemn In Salt Lake's Mormon Tabernacle
Culminating a romance that has continued since high school days, Teddy Lou Payne and Donald E. Calaway were united in marriage on Monday afternoon in the beautiful Salt Lake City Mormon Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Elder Albert J. Elggren performed the sacred ceremony.
The popular local couple made the trip to Salt Lake for the express privilege of being married in the Temple. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Payne of 419 S. Indiana st. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Calaway of 9081 Harding ave., West Anaheim.
Mr. and Mrs. Warren MacKay, former schoolmates, were witnesses to the ceremony, and following the sacred rites, Mrs. L. E. Jensen, formerly of Anaheim, served the wedding dinner in her home.
Miss Payne was a lovely bride in a traditional wedding gown of imported Chantilly lace over satin. The gown was fashiohed with a snug fitting bodice and very full skirt with a slight train effect. The long sleeves were pointed at the wrist and the high neckline was edged with a tiny Peter Pan collar. The bride's dark hair was partially covered with a small Juliet cap which held in place a short veil of fingertip length.
Miss Payne carried an all-white bridal bouquet, and for good luck included a blue garter and a lucky English six-pence in her bridal attire.
