Elected were: Mrs. Joseph Tirico, Santa Ana, president; Mrs. Carl J. Paul, Orange, president-elect; Mrs. Fred M. Hansen, Santa Ana, first vice-president; Mrs. Richard Preston, Santa Ana, second vice-president; Mrs. L. D. Spencer, Brea, recording secretary; Mrs. Fred Mears, Santa Ana, corresponding secretary and Mrs. Edgar Struve, Fullerton, treasurer. Delegates elected for the state auxiliary convention to be held May 25-26 in Los Angeles were Mmes. Tirico, Paul, Raymond Brandt, Santa Ana, Milton H. Damron, Anaheim, Arthur Wade, Santa Ana and Mrs. L. D. Spencer. Alternates named were Mmes. L. F. Whittaker, Huntington Beach, Arthur C. Ferree, Fullerton, A.N. Donaldson, Santa Ana, Harold F. Galbraith, Fullerton, Arthur E. Alne, Fullerton, Edgar Struve, Lois Rebekah Hostess to Barbara Meyers Barbara Myers, district deputy president, accompanied by her marshal, Mrs. Bessie Curtis, and escorted by her entire scaff made her last official visit to Anaheim Lois Rebekah lodge at the regular meeting held recently. In the lodge hall which was beautifully decorated with gladiolus and lillies, the visiting dignitary received honors due her rank as deputy officer of the Rebekah Assembly. Pat Senter, noble grand, presided at the business meeting. Present were members from all lodges of District 50 in addition to district deputies from Norwalk, Maywood, Ontario and Hollywood. Ida Mae Walberg's presented a delightful and entertaining style show, previewing the latest in fabrics and fashions for late spring and summer. Models who were members of Lois lodge were Edna Kruse, Mildred Allen, Dorothy Heinze, Gale Cleveland, Opal Carter, Berthyle Reisinger, Ellene Taylor, and Susan Benbrooks. Mrs. Garnet Moor was re- 49er Bar-B-Q To Aid Children Of Charity Home New Hope, U.S.A., a non-sectarian school for the underprivileged and homeless children at Banning, California, will stage a mammoth "49-er" Bar-B-Q Carnival on its shaded picnic grounds in the mountains, as a Memorial Day celebration, May 30 and 31. This big affair is part of a local fund-raising campaign to help in the construction of a fully-equipped machine shop and trade school. The two-day carnival will feature outstanding Western talent both for listening and dancing pleasure. Admission will be one dollar per person and will include all-day square dancing to a top Western band, an exciting, long carnival midway, thrilling rides, strolling musicians, and a host of sporting events and contests. Two big variety shows and amateur old fiddler, and square dance contests will be staged both afternoon and evening of each day. Mid-day and evening, both days, a real Western prime beef Bar-B-Q will be served. As an added attraction dozens of valuable gate prizes will be awarded, including RCA licensed table radios nationally advertised wrist watches, and several large screen, top-make television sets. The club is purchasing a CARE package to be sent to Korea. Freshman Bar-Yttes enjoyed the trampoline in the YMCA patio, Connie-Yttes made six May baskets for the Anaheim churchwomen's breakfast and Virginia Lee was named chairman for a hay ride outing being planned. Britt Gray Wins Toaster Trophy At Monday Meet Meeting Monday at Dragon cafe, Anaheim Toastmasters voted the Toastmaster trophy to Britt Gray for his talk on the topic, "Is Your Character Showing?" The meeting was conducted under the leadership of Dick Herrman and toastmaster duties were handled by Guy Tester. Hal Johnson gave the invocation. William Chambers conducted the table topic portion of the meeting on the subject, "Vacations." Speakers were Marcus Gartner. "It Happens Every Year," Zack Stringer, "The Meaning of Events," and Chauncy Stillson, "Strategy in Foot Racing." Lyle Wallace served as head evaluator assisted by Louis Taylor, Ed Wright, and J. M. Lepper. Frank Sallee of Fullerton was accepted as a new member. Dr. Les Christensen of Fullerton and George Tatlook of Anaheim were guests. Tom Wright, son of Ed Wright, who is home on leave prior to reporting to a new army assignment, gave a short talk on basic training procedures.
