Brilliant Spring Colors of Blooming A
Front Elevation of Home of Mr. and M
Spring has sprung with all its glory in the garden of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Hauck at 850 N. Resh st. The whole place is a riot of brilliant color. Flowering annuals at the height of their bloom lend their vivid hues to the landscape and frame the lovely brick-trimmed bright greenhouse very effectively.
Here is a garden conspicuous not only for its color but for its simplicity and practicability—as well, a home setting of which the Hauck's can be justly proud. We point it out particularly so that it will not go unnoticed, off the beaten track, as it is on the "dead end" of Resh st.
NICE NEIGHBORHOOD
It is in a oolightful new neighborhood with new homes going up on either side. The Hauck's have the usual rectangular city - size lot. Their house extends pretty well across the front width of the site, and the garage is approached from a back alley way.
Less than two years old, the contemporary modern house is well complemented by the landscaping plan of the garden. The approach is a serpentine cement walk bordered by rose trees. A brick planter box extends the full width of the house and is given over to low shrubbery heavily interspersed with the ranunculus, daffodils, and stocks which are so colorful right now. Two silver maple saplings have been planted in the lawn for shade.
Another color accent in this area comes from a lush growth of sweetpeas blooming profusely the side of the garage visible to the street.
