dishes, they attribute their success to the high quality of food used in everything they sell.
"Both George and I are single," said the youthful Cano, "and we can afford to put virtually all our profits back into the business."
Conchita, the La Palma mascot donkey, heartily agrees, and is eagerly awaiting the children she can parade around the lot today.
During the past year, the kitchen and the lot had to be enlarged in order to accommodate the constantly growing Anaheim customers who have learned of the delicious food served at the drive-in, Cano said.
Originally employing five people, there are now 15 working at the drive-in to provide fast, good service, he added.
"We had been looking for a good location for a drive-in for some time before we bought at the present location, believing we could offer the finest food possible." Cano, who also operates a service station across the street, said, "and the response we have received proves that we were right."

Members of Mother Colony Parlor No. 281, Native Sons of the Golden West, their ladies and guests, will gather Tuesday evening, Feb. 24, at 6:30 o'clock in the Garden Room of the Steak House, Knott's Berry Farm, to hear "Cap" Hillyard, Orange county surveyor, speak on "Handling Orange County's Growth," it was announced
OH BOY, IT'S GOOD—Even Conchita, La Palma drive-in mascot, enjoys the tacos served at his home. But possibly it's just the maid service, having Jessie Terrell hold him while Vicki Luna does the feeding, that he likes. However, owners Joe Cano and George McClain assure their patrons during the anniversary celebration tomorrow and Sunday the food will as enjoyable even without the text that is being given Conchita, (abbreviation)

Surveyor Hillyard
Members of Mother Colony Parlor No. 281, Native Sons of the Golden West, their ladies and guests, will gather Tuesday evening, Feb. 24, at 6:30 o'clock in the Garden Room of the Steak House, Knott's Berry Farm, to hear "Cap" Hillyard, Orange county surveyor, speak on "Handling Orange County's Growth," it was announced today by Loren Wagner, president of the northern Orange county group.
Changing conditions brought about by the large increase in population and the industrial growth of Orange county affect each and every one of us, President Wagner pointed out. For this reason the Native Sons secured as their speaker for the ladies night affair one who has been in close touch with the county's growth through the years.
Reservations may be made through Conger Thomson, Placeia, program chairman; President Loren Wagner of Anaheim, phone 3452; or Leonard Schwacofer, phone Anaheim 4117.
Of interest also, was the announcement by President Wagner that Mother Colony Parlor will be host this year to the district public speaking contest of the Native Sons of the Golden West to be held March 24, the place to be announced later.
The county contest has been expanded this year into a district contest, with entries from high schools of eastern Los Angeles county, as well as Orange county, so vie for the right to participate in the regional contest to be held in April in Los Angeles. Winner of the regional contest will compete with two other contestants of Sonoma the middle of May for the state championship and a 1000 United States savings bond.
