Plans have been completed for the official visit of the grand president, Miss Loretto O'Rourke of San Anselmo, Calif., which will be held in the IOOF hall, Jan. 14. A dinner at 6:30 p.m. will precede the meeting and formal initiation of new members. Dinner reservations are to be made with Gerry Carlson, telephone 7635. Reservations close at noon, Jan. 12. The monthly card party will be held in the home of Agnes Zinda, 12262 Corritos ave Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. Hostesses are Opal Rimpau and Anne Treanor. Reservations are to be made with Gerry Carlson, telephone 7635. Ways and Means Chairman Anne Treanor announced that an apron sale would be held Sunday, Feb. 8 after all Masses. Members are to make and donate the aprons for this sale. The place of the sale will be announced later. A report was made by Blanche Hudson, social service chairman, on the Christmas baskets distributed to needy families. Members wishing to take part in the spiritual bouquet for His Eminence, James Francis Cardinal-designate McIntyre please contact Elsie Benner, telephone 4640. Chairmen for the social hour were Mary Catherine Worden, Connie Tighe, and Grace Ricker. On the birthday table was a beautifully blue and white decorated birthday cake with a blue and white snowman made of marshmallows gracing the center Bean Dinner to Finance YMCA Delegate Trips The public is invited to a benefit bean dinner to be held at the YMCA building on Citron st. Saturday night from 5 to 7:30 to raise money to send Anaheim's delegates to the Fifth California YMCA Model Legislature in the Sacramento State Capitol on Feb. 19, 20 and 21. Reservations may be made by calling the YMCA, phone 2165. The delegates attended a Youth and Government Pre-Legislative Training Conference Saturday in the Los Angeles Downtown YMCA; Chairman was William B McKesson, judge of the Superior Court of Los Angeles county Representing Anaheim were Phil Wright, Chairman Submil Grant. Crescent Social Club Meeting Plans Fall Bazaar Crescent Social club meets at the home of Mrs. B Waymire, 1101 W. Whiting. Her plans for the annual fall zaar were made. Beginning the next meeting all members do needlework for that purpose but at this meeting each woman sewed personal projects. Decision was made to change the date of the monthly meet to the third Friday of each month. Selma Vercoe will hostess group Feb. 20 at her home, E. College place. Members enjoyed their lunches and the hostess provided rum and cherries, white cake, tea and coffee. January meeting of the executive board of the Junior Ebell was held at the home of Mrs. William Waite, 305 Marwood with president, Mrs. Phil Tworel presiding. During the regular business meeting Mrs. John Hannon announced that the club sponsor a formal dinner-dance Feb. 14 at the Balboa Bay cemetery. Mrs. John Conner requested an announcement at the regiment be made that volunteered are needed to sort 1500 East Seals. Those women interested will meet at the home of N.Hub Crawford on Thursday, April 15. Special announcement was made by Mrs. Bill Mills that the Orange County Federation of Junior Women's clubs is sponsoring a concert bridge fashion show on Feb. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the Santa Ana Ebell clubhouse, 625 French Patricia's of Santa Ana will provide the fashions; this shop is offered a $50 merchandise price. All proceeds are to go to the Orange County Association for Charity. The delegates attended a Youth and Government Pre-Legislative Training Conference Saturday in the Los Angeles Downtown YMCA. Registration began at nine o'clock, followed by the morning session which was opened by Judge McKeeson who introduced Lt. Governor Phil Wright. He extended a welcome to all the Southern California delegates. A demonstration "A Committee Considers a Bill" followed. Members of the committee were Judge McKesson, John F. Hopkins, assistant district attorney of Los Angeles county, Gerald Kepple and Roger A. Pfaff, judges of the Municipal court. Floyd O. Flom, associate professor of Political Science at Whittier College, E. H. Gaylord, deputy county counsel, George Wakefield, deputy county counsel, and William H. Rosenthal, assemblyman. The students separated into smaller groups to gain practice in committee procedures. Simulated sessions of senate and assembly were held with Phil Wright presiding over the senate. A general session was held in the afternoon. Those present were presented with a birthday gift and card from the president, Marie Martin. The members singing "For Me and My Gal" accompanied by Leona DeWitt at the piano, preceded the surprise announcement of forthcoming marriage of Agnes Zinda, a past president and popular member of Anaheim YLI, to Donal Jerome Redmond on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at a Nuptial Mass at 10 am in the Army Chapel at March Field. Her only attendant will be her sister, Mrs. Henry Plou. Serving the groom as best man will be his brother-in-law, Charles Revell. After returning from their honeymoon, they will reside at 12262 Cerritos ave. Red berries and Poinsettas were used for decorating the table in the dining room. Anaheim Chapter Red Cross, Plans Annual Meeting Plans for the annual meeting of Anaheim chapter, American Red Cross, were discussed at the board meeting held Wednesday evening. Complete program will be ready very soon. The meeting will be held at the Ebell club with a dinner to be served at 6:30 by the chapter canteen under Mrs. M. A. Gauer. The public is invited and reservations may be made by calling the office, 2065. For the blood program, Mrs. P. H. Nelson, chairman, it was reported that a very successful mobile visit was made to, the Los Alamitos naval air station on Dec. 19. One hundred twenty four pints of blood were obtained. Junior Red Cross, Miss Minnie Spicer, chairman, has six schools enrolled. The group at the high school made 50 dozen cookies during December, which were taken to the county hospital. They also collected toys, games and magazines for the hospital, and for other children in need. Miss Frieda Janss, chairman of camp and hospital, had attended that the chapter's participation in the council meeting and reported the Christmas celebrations at the military and veterans' hospitals was most successful. Twenty five gifts, prepared by the canteen group in Stanton, were given to the air force base infirmary at Terminal Island. This group also assisted in decorating Christmas trees at the Long Beach Veterans' hospital. Rebekah Lodge Installations To Start Soon Rebekah lodges of Orange county soon to start installation of officers. Under the new ruling of the sovereign grand lodge these officers installed will hold office for one year rather than the previous six months' term. The installing officers are from Lois, Anaheim, with Barbara A. Myers as district deputy president of district No. 50 and her deputy marshal, Bessie M. Curtis. They are assisted by grand officers and escorts: Ora Horn, warden; Berthyle Reisinger, secretary; Ellene Cailor, treasurer; Susan Benbrooks chaplain; Mildred Fitz, inside guardian; Dorothy Heinze, outside guardian, and Maude Adams, musician. Escorts are: Opal Carter, Pat Senter, Violet Thlerfelder, Irène Stitchtman, Opal Meeker, Launa Boon, Vernice Summers, Lazne Knight, Edna Kruse, Gladys Hamilton, Mable Clark, Gale Cleveland and Iona Cooper, color bearers, and Ada Anderson, soloist, with Clarence Curtis as drill master. Installation dates are as follows: Acacia, Huntington Beach, Jan. 9; Sycamore, Santa Ana, Jan. 10; Aloha, Westminster, Jan. 13; Torosa, Santa Ana, Jan. 14; Los Anaheim, Jan. 16; Ruby, Orange, Jan. 19; Mesa, Costa Mesa, Jan. 20; Fullerton, Fullerton, Jan. 21; Busy Bee, Cypress, Jan. 27. On Jan. 31 the staff will participate in a staff night at Long Beach with all the district deputies and their staffs from Los Angeles county. Each staff will put on an exhibition drill which was used at the conclusion of their installations. Grand officers of the state will be present for this meeting. There will be 11 drills. They, in turn, gave her a monetary corsage made of one-dollar bills. Reports given during the business session showed the following disbursements: five bouquets, two funeral sprays, 53 cards, eight calls and $10 for relief. Veterans' aid required $4. Stanton Soldier Gets Promotion WITH THE EIGHTH ARMY IN KOREA — Kenneth G. Fennel, whose wife, Dorothy, lives at 217 E. Hurd st., Edmond, Okla., recently earned a promotion to sergeant while serving in Korea with the Fifth regimental combat team. His unit, part of the front-line fighting force, is an independent, self-supporting element of the U.S. Eighth army. Since entering the army in September, 1951, Fennel has been awarded the combat infantry badge and the bronze star medal. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Zack R. Fennel, Stanton, Calif.
