Floyd Thompson of the Church of Christ, Santa Ana, officiated at the double ring ceremony. Wearing a gown of ivory satin and ivory chantilly lace, the lovely brunette bride was escorted down the aisle by her uncle, Jack D. Ward. The dress was fashioned with a round neck with gathered lace bertha and puffed sleeves; tiers of ruffled lace formed the skirt. A tiara of lace and pearls held the finger tip veil. She carried a white orchid and a prayer book. Rosemary Fri, her attendant, wore a ballerina length gown of Victorian red velvet. She carried a muff decorated with holly. Groomsman was Robert Griffith; ushers were Bill Ward, cousin of the bride, and Ray Lancaster, Jr., brother-in-law of the bride. A prelude of sacred music and the traditional wedding march were played on the organ by the bride's aunt, Mrs. Jack Ward. William Saciner sang "Always." "Be cause" and "The Lord's Prayer." More than 100 guests greeted the young couple at the reception. Mrs. Jewel Dixon, mother of the bride, wore a dress of blue velvet with pink carnation corsage and Mrs. Rennie Williams, aunt of the groom, wore navy blue with identical flowers. The groom's mother, Mrs. Claude Hamm, was unable to attend the ceremony. Rosemary Fri poured at the reception; Marilyn Strickland was in charge of the guest book. When the couple left for a wedding trip to Crestline, the new Mrs. Hamm was wearing a gray suit with the orchid from the prayer book.
