The supervisors thus adopted only a portion of the recommendation made by the county grand jury several weeks ago, that two departments be added to the present four, and that salaries of the judges be increased to $16,500 a year. A week ago, a delegation from the Orange county Bar Association appeared before the supervisors and urged approval of the grand jury recommendations, pointing out that the court calendars are now jammed with cases waiting to be heard, and that the Orange county judges are not paid as much as the judges in other counties.
