Renner and Mrs. Martha Schumacher were host Thursday evening when they entertained their employees of the S.Q.R. store with an annual Christmas party, given in the Eba clubhouse. An unusually delightful event it imparted to the guests, the true spirit and meaning of Christmas in the inspirational interpretation of talented Barbara Hudson, in addition to an evening of frolic and games. Miss Laressia Spicer and Mrs. Marguerite Dolbee led the game which provided much merriment and Mrs. Ferne Marley led the group in singing carols. Mrs. Caroline Davis assumed the role Santa Claus in the gift exchange. The outstanding moment-of-the evening came when the light were extinguished, leaving Barbara Hudson in silhouette before the glowing Christmas tree. Dressed in a flowing white robe, she made an impressive, lovely picture as she gave her inspired interpretation of "Where Can We Find Christmas". Included in her portraiture was a satire of "The Christmas Parade", which left no doubt as to the scope of Miss Hudson's talent. Refreshments were served at lace-covered, exquisitely decorated table to approximately eight guests, with Mrs. Oscar Renner and Mrs. Frank Flower pouring. The party, with its program devoted to the true Christmas meaning, was unanimously agreed to be one of the most enjoyable of the many delightful Christmas parties given by the store.
