LEARNING TO FALL CORRECTLY — That's an odd chore for a child, but Ronnie Gill had to learn to fall correctly as he learned to walk with braces. Above, Casa Colina Chief Physical Therapist Charles Magistro shows Ronnie how with the aid of “Bobo” on the wall.
Crippled Boy Walks Again, Thanks To Santa Claus and Casa Colina
Last year little Ronnie Gill, a patient at Casa Colina, asked Santa for a pair of braces to help him walk again. Ronnie hadn't walked since his spinal cord was severed in an automobile accident. The lad got the braces and now he wants all his friends to know how well he can use them.
children at Casa Colina, rehabilitation home for crippled children, who are asking Santa for something they had no thought of last year—just to help them walk again. In some cases, this means crutches and expensive braces; in others, just highly trained people who know how to retain them.
Ronnie is at home now—"he's walking everywhere," says his mother. "We can't keep him down"—but there are many other children at Casa Colina, rehabilitation home for crippled children, who are asking Santa for something they had no thought of last year—just to help them walk again. In some cases, this means crutches and expensive braces; in others, just highly trained people who know how to retrain muscles and instill confidence until a frightened and apprehensive youngster can once more get around under his own power. The address is just Casa Colina, Chino.
IN THE DAYS OF LONG AGO From the Files of Anahelm Gazette By MRS. HENRY KUCHEL
25 Years Ago
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Jayne and son Robert leave tomorrow for Mecca where they will reside for some months. Robert is enrolled as a student in the Mecca high school.
Mrs. W. J. Cole and little daughter have returned from a week's sojourn at Coronado and San Diego.
F. A. Korn and Miss Masie Hortsman returned on Saturday from a four months' tour of Europe.
Ramon Aguilar dropped into town and out again on last Thursday, so suddenly that his friends hadn't time to hear that he was in town until he was gone again. Ramon is station agent for the octopus at Fernando, and has three new men under him. He is rising steadily in the service, and some of these days we expect to hear of him riding in a private car with Harriman.
There was a man in town from Los Angeles on Friday who possesses the faculty of playing on nine different musical instruments at one time. We understand he has been engaged to assist some of the candidates.
Dr. Head of Garden Grove was in town yesterday. The future prospects of the doctor are very bright.
The Los Angeles Star is unusually interesting just now. Its political gossip is well and racily written.
