CHARMING HOME — Charles and Hazel Washbon amply supplied with ideas when they tackled the plan of their new home, shown above, at 13932 Country Place.
BY JOAN S. WHITE
Charles and Hazel Washbon adventured into good living. Their first house in Fullerton's Sunny Hills was conventionally lovely but never made them feel at home. Their second, at 13937 Country Lane here in Anaheim, was tailored to family specifications, built in the spirit of adventure, and suits the occupants right down to the ground.
The house is as casual as the California couple who lives there. Both Charles and Hazel were born and raised in Orange county and enjoy the freedom that the long, low ranch type dwelling gives with its many entrances and its blending with the out-of-doors.
When it was in the drawing board stage, Hazel said, "give me a country kitchen and a big fireplace. Give me a home that is easy to care for. We have learned what we like in a house. Now let's have it."
Charles went along with that, even though as a general building contractor he sometimes advises home-builders against it. He had seen enough of the building to know that these ideas have resale value.
Neely Landscaped
The house stretches down middle of a 60x135 corner the long way. Some twelve dredged square feet of house on a narrow front fringe of which is charmingly landscaped with geraniums, daisies and a similar space in back is over to a sheltered brick with barbecue, redwood tall comfortable chairs. Each room is resigned to compliment the while requiring a minimum yard work.
Inside, Hazel has her co-kitchen designated by sofa a dining-den as well as kitchen proper is a stained 9x12 affair, very cool with bright yellow tile sliding work space flanked on one side by stove and refrigerator. This part is removed from remaining 11x12 foot area by a short breakfast and built-in hutch.
The whole room takes its place from the picturesque wall of mellowed used brick fireplace itself is small and raised hearth. It blends fully with the open beam of the shoulder high wainscot hand rubbed knotty pine vincial patterned wall paper two-toned cottage curtain plete the background for the dining table, a Boston rock of all things, a television.
Just naturally this is the used room in the house. The rage, patio and half bath are jacent to it. Asphalt tile completes its practicality. Home Feeling

Thirty Families in Bonded Homes' Tract; Third Ready by Christmas
Homes in the second unit of the Bonded Home development at East and La Palma sts., just north of Center st., in Anaheim, are ready for occupancy and 30 families already have moved in, it was announced yesterday.
This report was given by C. Fred Smith and Arthur B. Weber, heads of Bonded Homes, Inc., developers of the three-bedroom and two-bedroom and den dwellings, each with two baths.
They further disclosed that residences in the big third unit of the new community will be ready for occupancy by Christmas because of the construction tempo required by heavy sales activity.
Priced from $13,550, the homes are offered to veterans or non-veterans for as low as $1500 down on conventional financing. On FHA terms down payments are from $2900, plus impounds. Qualified veterans may buy on VA terms.
Furnished model homes are continuing on display every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., typifying some of the many architectural styles created by William M. Bray, A. I. A.
The dwellings have 1350 square feet of livable area, besides that in porches and garages. In styling, quality of construction, number of features and location, they are rated equal in value to those costing from $20,000 to $25,000.
Features include forced air unit heat, indoor planters, large sliding doors, wood burning fireplaces, garbage disposals, luxurious wood paneled living rooms, birch and knotty pine kitchen cabinets and convenient center hall plans.
The property was once an orange grove and many of the trees remain intact on the sites.
Designed for the easy informality of outdoor living, the homes have living rooms facing room.

Stanton Ejection Suit Filed in SA
Suit to eject Delos and Wanda Wilson from possession of property at 10961 Western ave., near Stanton, was filed in Superior court at Santa Ana late yesterday by Dorothy N. Czinger and John Czinger, who sold the property to the Wilsons on contract last Aug. 6, the complaint states.
The Wilsons claim that the Czingers have failed to make agreed installment payments of $72 each on Oct. 10 and Nov. 10. On Nov. 24 the Czingers served notice of default and demanded for possession of the property, which is located at Western ave. and Katella rd. Return of the property is refused, the complaint states.
SAN DIEGO, Dec. 4 (AP)—Approximately 2000 friends and relatives accorded the 1000 man crew of the escort carrier Sicily a multitude welcome today as the baby flat tied up against the quay wall at north Island naval air station, ending its third tour of duty in Korean waters.
COUNTRY KITCHEN—Mrs. Washbon wanted a country-style kitchen. She achieved her end admirably with the charming ceiling-height used-brick fireplace at right. Doorway leads to kitchen and at left, just out of the picture is maple breakfast counter separating kitchen and breakfast room.

Timely Homes, Inc., of Santa Ana were given the go-ahead sign by the county planning commission last week to build a 30-acre subdivision with 132 lots for single-family dwelling quarters.
Cypress Farmers Propose Heavy Agriculture Zone
Jake Van Dyke acted as chairman at the second public meeting of Cypress residents at the school Tuesday night when more than 80 attended to discuss the proposal of the farmers of the area to create a heavy agricultural zone and a dairy district.
Peter Bouma from Buena Park was present, as chairman of the Orange County Farm bureau dairy department, and reports that the first public hearing on the establishment of the proposed dairy zone has been set by the county planning commission for Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. in the Santa Ana court-house annex. Bouma also stated "there will be a continuation of hearings."
The Tuesday night meet was held to clarify and develop a plan that will not penalize any property owners and will provide protection in the future. Anyone owning property less than four acres within the contemplated area would be allowed to build on it but subdividing in the future would not be allowed unless a variance should be granted by the county supervisors. The residential area of Cypress is excluded from the four acre building site plan.
Many of the townpeople stated this dairy rezoning plan will keep out the subdivisions which they prefer rather than the dairies.
