Miss Rose Resnick, blind founder and director of the camp, was near tears of gratitude as the sale price mounted. The steer was given as a calf to the blind children to raise by the Vernon Lions club. Illinois was the first state in the union to ratify the Woman's Suffrage amendment to the Constitution.
