AUTHENTIC SETTING of an old Boston street scene is being created by members of the Crescendo Class of White Temple Methodist church for their annual bean dinner Friday night. White picket fencing, ivy covered lamp posts and scroll signs will lend atmosphere to the evening. Puritan maid and Bostonian men will appear in costume for serving. Admiring the setting are Vern Hilbers and Don Bown.
Chorale to Appear in First Program of Year
The Orange Empire Chorale gives its first performance of the season next Tuesday night, 8:15 p.m., at the Santa Ana college student lounge. The public is invited and admission is free.
Directing the choir is Kenneth D. Boettcher and accompanist is Mrs. Edna Ehorn. Dr. John G. Wilcox is soloist for the Coronation scene.

Appear in First Program of Year
The Orange Empire Chorale gives its first performance of the season next Tuesday night: 8:15 p.m., at the Santa Ana college student lounge. The public is invited and admission is free.
Directing the choir is Kenneth D. Boettcher and accompanist is Mrs. Edna Ehorn. Dr. John G. Wilcox is soloist for the Coronation scene from "Boris Godunov." Included in the program are "My Child is Gone" and early American slave song: "Hodio, Christus natus ost" by Healey Willan, and "Td Enter Your Garden," a folk song by Johannes Brahms plus many other new numbers which they have added to their repertoire.
Anyone wishing to join the chorale is invited to contact Mr. Boettcher or any of the members after the concert. This group is sponsored by the Santa Ana recreational department.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin S. Huss of Hansen Manor hosted a family dinner for 15 Sunday in honor of the birthday of his aunt, Mrs. Veva Gorman of 825 Sabina st.
Mrs. Joseph Dallape, 7021 Brady st., who had surgery last Thursday at St. Joseph hospital in Orange is now convalescent at home.
Feature Variety Of Sale Booths
Crescendo club of White Temple Methodist church is having its annual Boston baked bean dinner Friday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
Menu of old fashioned Boston baked beans will be featured with steamed brown bread, tossed salad and dessert. Serving will be continuous from 5:30 through 7:30 with a quartet featured during the serving hours.
Other attractions will be "Ye Olde Theater" which will show films: "Ye Olde Sweete Shoppe" to sell home baked goods and "Ye Olde Needle Shoppe" with sewn items for sale, such as aprons, pot holders, ceramics and other gift articles.
A new feature this year is "Ye Olde Parcel Post Office" where packages from far away can be purchased as they come through the mail.
Dinner guests of Mrs. Alice Marwell recently were Miss Kathryn Maxwell, Pasadena, Mr. and Mrs.-Steve Maxwell, Burbank, and Mr. and Mrs. James Maxwell and son, Jimmie, Fullerton.
Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Elliott, 1223 E. Adele st., will entertain the Service class of Wesley Methodist church at their home this evening at 7:30.
Two-City Lions Attend Dinner
The Stanton Lions hosted Westminster-Midway Lions to roast beef dinner Monday night at their Chestnut st. clubhouse with an attendance of 38.
Royal C. Marten, president, presided and Charles Brothers, president of the visiting group, will the speaker on activities in the area.
Rev. T. C. Gameson of Westminster gave the invocation. James Tringham, Westminster school teacher, acted as song leader accompanied by Mrs. C. C. Rush Lady Lions hostess.

Former Residents Observe Silver Anniversary
Former Orange county residents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Heman, Maywood were guests of honor at a buffet supper in their home on Sunday evening when relatives and friends gathered to celebrate their 25 wedding anniversary. Mrs. Heman was presented with a white chrysanthemum corsage and both were given a "purse" by the guests.
The Hemans, who were married in the home of the bride's mother, the late Mrs. Emilia Brelje, Olive, by the Rev. Emil H. Kreidt, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, have two sons, Robert, who has just returned after serving three years in the Army, and Ross, a junior in high school.
Present were Messrs and Mesdames Herman Brelje, Arthur Brelje, Edwin Brelje, Henry Harms, Laurence Timken, Walter Brelje, Oliver Brelje, Gerald Meyer, Herbert Juergens, Everett Jergens and Roman Maahs; Mrs. Mathilda Harms, Misses Marie Brelje, who was maid of honor at the wedding of her sister, Peggy Savage and Judy Timken; Ronald Brelje, Robert and Ross Heman, Dennis Harms and Jack Schmidt.
Olive Notes
At the meeting of the Olive Improvement Club, Olive on Tuesday evening, officers were elected to serve the group in 1953. They are Ernest Ubert, president; Lloyd Cole, vice-president; Robert Servis, secretary; and Chester Fowler, treasurer. Members of the Board of Directors are A. W. Ames, Walter F. Meier, La Verne Schaner, Don Dane, Harold Paulus and Everett Hazen.
A pot luck supper was served by Mesdames George Cudworth, August Heinemann, Roy Kile, Edwin Brelje and Rudy Heman.

TRI-HI-Y MEETS
The Tri-Hi-Y clubs held regular meeting Tuesday evening. Shifley-Pannier talked to the junior Zi-Chi-Phi club on the Youth and Government program. They plan to have a candy sale Saturday in front of the SQR store. A service point committee was appointed consisting of Barbara Scharnweber, Sue Arnold, Donna Reafsnyder, Dee Ames and Mary Cona.
The newly elected president of the senior YQT's, Marilyn Hudson, entertained her club in her home. The junior Par Y Feminis held a business meeting and made plans to take a basket of food for Thanksgiving dinner to a needy family next week. Afterward they will go to the home of their leader, Genevieve Meade, for hot chocolate. The sophomore Y-Colonettes are also planning to take a Thanksgiving basket to a needy family.
The sophomore Y-Anns have changed the name of their club to Electric Yers and have written a new constitution and adopted a budget.
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Air Force is going to keep on flying its F-89 Scorpion jet interceptor.
Roswell L. Gilpatric; Air Force under secretary, said yesterday there would be no cut in orders from Northrop Aircraft, Inc., producer of the speedy planes, because of a series of fatal crashes which have kept Scorpions grounded for two months.
