NEWSPRONT — A five-year-old Fullerton lad — David Dale Howell — drowned in a small lake on the estate of J. Gregory Conway, nationally known flower arranging artist and lecturer. Det. Lt. Herb Curtis fished the boy's body from the five-foot depth of water ... Possibility that Oranco milk prices might be raised a cent loomed today as a hearing was set for Oct. 20 ... Ed Stanley, 35, former Santa Ana Don footballer, was listed as the county's 122 poliomyelitis victim by Dr. John Barger, deputy health officer. His condition "is not considered serious." ... A turnout of 1432 of the 1800 registered Seal Beach voters balloted 751 to 681 to ban William Robertson's "Sheet Metal Monte Carlo." A bitter controversy centered about the casho and brought out the near-record vote ... Oranco's biggest housing project to cost $20 million is planned for Costa Mesa just south of Coast college.
DEATH—Elbert Hatch, 49, died a few minutes after his car collided with a car driven by Hemer Malcarne at "Coroner's Corner"—Orangethorpe and Lemon. He was the 73rd Oranco traffic fatality.

Rebekahs Set Hallowe'en Party For Oct. 17
Lois Rebekah lodge held its meeting Friday night with Noble Grand Violet Thierfelder presiding.
Henry Mang, past grand patriarch, Mr. and Mrs. Beatty, past grand officers of North Dakota, and Barbara Myers were introduced and welcomed.
Pat Senter, chairman for the penny supper tomorrow night reported that plans were completed and that the public is invited.
A meeting of the past noble grands was set for Oct. 9 at the home of Bonnie Miller. Regular meeting and a Hallowe'en party will be held on Oct. 17 and member are asked to come in costume.
Refreshments were served by the committee with Myrtle Weber, chairman, Vernice Summers, Edna McKeen and Mary Alice Shawhan.
Colorful Party Opens Season For Mariners
Mariners club of the Presbyterian church began the fall season with a Mexican style potluck dinner in the social hall of the church. Present for the event were 34 members and eight guests.
The Rev. Hugh Nelson of Michelinda Presbyterian church, told of his work as a missionary to Mexico and illustrated his talk with colored slides. Authentic music was presented by William Talvich.
The potluck dinner was in charge of Harold and Ruth Hall with Ed and Dixie Edwards arranging the table decorations.
Guests attending were the Rev. and Mrs. Stevenson, Mr. and Mrs. Irwin Stahl, Rev. and Mrs. Hugh Nelson and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Sandoval, former members.

TV STAR—Supervisor Ralph McFadden appeared on a nationwide TV hookup when he was interviewed at the half-time of the Stanford-Michigan (14-7) game. The Placentian played for Stanford against Michigan 50 years ago.

Basic Training To Begin for Scout Leaders
Girl Scout Leader Basic Training course, begins Wednesday, Oct. 8, 9:30 a.m. at the Investment in Youth Building, 317 E. La Palma. Visual aid materials to be used include film strips, charts, and posters. Practical suggestions for organizing troops, and methods of planning program activities will interest all leaders, assistant leaders, and committee members.
Historical background of the organization, use of the patrol system and details concerning badge program will be outlined by Mrs. Roberta McFarland, executive director of the Anaheim Girl Scout Council, Inc.
Mrs. D. M. Knight, northern orange county volunteer trainer, who has assisted for the last three years, will again present methods of teaching songs, dances, and games. A discussion period for Brownie leaders and their problems has been planned.
The outdoor phase of Scouting is scheduled for Oct. 24. Mrs. John L. Bovee, Jr., president of the leaders club, and Mrs. Don May, program chairman of the council, will help with this last session. Certificates will be awarded to leaders completing the entire course: 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, Oct. 8, 10, 15, 17, 22 and 24, Investment in Youth building.
HONOLULU (E) — Forty-two F84 Thunderjet fighters flew non-stop from Travis air force base, Calif., to Hawaii yesterday in the second transPacific mass jet flight in history.

The attendee gowns were designed by bride.
The bridegroom was attested by his brother, Robert Hoff best man. Ushers were Jo-Hoffman another brother, Mahoney Gordon Mahoney Raoul Carlson.
Bronze and yellow chrysanthem mums, yellow gladioli and red leaves decorated the main door and the side altar was decorated with an unusual arrangement.

Layette Shower For Mrs. Parker
Before leaving by plane for Kaneohi Marine Base, Hawaiian Islands to join her husband Sgt. Niel Parker, Mrs. Parker was honored at an anticipation shower by three friends, Misses Rita D'Grennaro, Greta Shipman and Margaret Colbaugh at her home, 7701 Walker st., Cypress.
Gifts were presented in a basket by 18 friends. Ice cream cake slices with individual storks was featured at refreshment time.
Shower games were won by Mrs. Gladys Foster, Misses Ada La Verne Stanley and Barbara Perry.
A second shower was given by relatives and friends at the home of Mrs. Jack Dillard in San Gabriel, the honoree's aunt.
Elect Officers To Christian Endeavor Group
The high school Christian Endeavor of the Stanton Community church held election of officers who will be installed at a semi-formal banquet Oct. 18 in the clubroom of the church according to Rev. Charles A. White, pastor. Hosts at the party will be Mr. and Mrs. Harold Lovett.

Nuptial Mass at St. Boniface Unites Annette Crenshaw - Dominic Hoffman
Miss Annette Marie Crenshaw, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Crenshaw of N. Paulina st., was lovely bride Saturday morning she stood before the altar of Boniface Catholic church to marriage vows with Dominic Hoffman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dominic A. Hoffman of Amstutz Anaheim.
The Rev. Michael Case officiated the double ring rites.
Scorted down the aisle by her sister, the bride wore a gown of quisite lace over nylon net. Queen of Scots headdresses were worn by the bridal attendants and the bride's veil also folded this theme with a single elf drop over her forehead. She held a white prayer book, a gift from the bridegroom, and a teal orchid.
Mrs. Wayne C. Flock of Fuller-sister of the bride, was made of honor and wore a gown of bronze chiffon velvet with a quet of yellow spider chryshemums, wheat spears and oak leaves. Her little daughter Yvonne Flock, was flower and was gowned exactly like mother. She carried an iden-bouquet.
Bridesmaids were Miss Shirley Man, sister of the bridegroom, Garth Menges of San Diego. Lorraine Montijo and Mrs.ert Williams of Anaheim, Miss Man and Mrs. Menges wore duolise chiffon velvet and car-lavendar chrysanthemums, wheat and red oak leaves. Montijo and Mrs. Williams gowned in gold toned velvet with bronze chrysanthems, wheat and red oak leaves their bouquets. The attendants' dresses were designed by the bridegroom was attended his brother, Robert Hoffman, man. Ushers were Joseph Man, another brother, Keithoney, Gordon Mahoney and Carl Carlson.

After a honeymoon at a mountain resort the new Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman will make their home in Anaheim. Both are graduates of Anaheim High school and he has spent eight years as a member of the United States Naval Reserve, much of that time on active duty. He is now in business with his father.
Make Dolls for Korean Children
The Missionary society of the Santon Community church met Thursday for their monthly day of work. Dolls made from men's cotton stockings and filled with old nylons were worked on with Mrs. Elijah Briggs painting the faces. The 100 dolls will go to the children of Korea for Christmas.
Mrs. Charles White and Mrs. William Cornthwaite took cookies made by four of the members to the Orange county hospital as is the monthly custom of the club.
At the potluck luncheon at noon, Mrs. Briggs served a beautiful cake she had decorated to look like a ladies' brimmed yellow straw hat with yellow and white daisies clustered on one side of the brim.

Fellowship Group Hostesses Tea For Newcomers
Hostesses for the October Hospitality Tea, given by the Retail Merchants division of the Chamber of Commerce, Vera Auest chairman, were Women's Fellowship group for the Presbyterian church, represented by Mrs. Mary Vincent, president. Assisting were Mrs. Earl Spencer, Mrs. R. B. Young, Mrs. A. E. Bourne and Mrs. C. A. Holliday.
Table favors and the corsage given to each guest were donated by local merchants. The television lamp was won by Mrs. Leona Heidel and Mrs. Alice Wallace won the merchandise order. Refreshments of chocolate chip pie and coffee were furnished by Dorothy Wade dinner house where the teas are held.
The next party on Nov. 8, will be hostessed by the 20-30 Annies.

Joseph Reza, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Reza, 6931 Miller rd., has entered the Salleah Junior Seminary at Richmond. The Salesian fathers conduct the St. John Bosco School for Boys in Bellflower, and often say Mass at St. Plus V Catholic church in Buena Park where Joseph was an altar boy. He formerly was a student at St Boniface parochial school in Anaheim.
