TELEVISION Cypress Kiwanis Plan for Kids' Day Trip to Los Alamitos NAS The Cypress Kiwanis met Monday night for dinner at Loyd's drive-in and made plans for local participation in the Kiwanis International project, "Kids Day." Sept. 27, started by Jimmie Fidler, newspaper columnist. E. E. (Skip) Goodman will drive the Nazarene church bus full of kids to the Los Alamitos Naval Air Station for a tour of the field and inspection of the planes. Rev. William D. Howard will be chairman and accompany the group, starting at 9:30 a.m., from Cypress school. Refreshments will be served by the Navy and the kids will be returned in time to view movie cartoons in the auditorium of the school from 2:30 to 4:30. Don Caul, general chairman of White Gold Day, sponsored by the Cypress Chamber of Commerce was a special guest. He told of plans for the annual event and Ralph Thomas was appointed by President Dick Hathcock to negotiate with Caul on arrangements for the Kiwanian breakfast that will start the day rolling at 7 a.m., Sunday, Oct. 4, at the school. Pancakes and meat will be featured and every adult giving a donation of 50 cents will be given a package of Pillsbury’s pancake mix. Coffee will be served by courtesy of Schilling. More than 500 Kids Day buttons have been sold by the club locally, according to Hathcock, and proceeds will be used to defray the day's expenses and remainder will be spent locally for children who need medical aid and have no one to help them.
