Narda. She introduced her house guest, Miss Agnes Nemavich, also a member of the international sorority, from Washington D.C. Ice Cream Social To Bolster Church Planting Fund An ice cream social, sponsored by the Service Class and young people's group of Wesley Methodist church, which is an annual affair, will be held Thursday evening, July 31, on the church lawn at 630 N. Los Angeles st. Plans are to serve from 7 to 9 p.m. according to Herbert Parsons, class president. In addition to the homemade ice cream and cake, coffee and homemade candy will be sold by the MYF group. Mrs. Mary Oldham is in charge of securing cakes, several class members will make the ice cream and Hugh Nipp will arrange for lighting the tables. Proceeds from this year's affair will go toward planting new shrubs and maintaining the church grounds which is a continuous project of the class. The MYFers' profits will go into their camp fund. For Health, Eat California Fruit Success Marks VFW Affair The barbecue and funfest given by the Marin-Davis Post and Auxiliary No. 716 of the American Legion was held at Los Alamitos Sunday afternoon. Mrs. Anna Watte, newly elected president of the Auxiliary, chairman and personally sent the steaks barbecued by her band, Oscar, and his brother Omer Watte, at the outdoor at Connie's Place, 10891 Los Alamitos blvd. Eme R. Otte acted as auctioneer during the evening and baby beef donated by Dave Hema won by Mrs. Elmer Moore of 10772 Los Alamitos blvd. Put up for auction and sold $88, after Mrs. Morris announces she would give everything on $80 to the Legion building fund. A western band furnished music for dinner and dancing through the courtesy of Wylie Barrero post member. His guest music were Mr. and Mrs. Stigve Grøn and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Vande pool of Hawaiian Gardens; Becker, Mayfair; Ray Munson Roscoe White of Bellflower. Silver Wedding Anniversary for Olive Couple Twenty five years ago, at the parsonage of St. Paul's Lutheran church in Olive, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Meierhoff were married by Rev. Emil H. Kreldt, pastor of the church. In remembrance of the occasion, their children, Donald Meierhoff and Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Krage entertained Saturday evening in the latter's home on Fletcher rd., Olive. They were assisted by Mrs. Meierhoff's sisters, Mrs. Jay Cornelison of Villa Park, Mrs. Hubert Gaddie of Corona, and Mrs. Alfred Miller of San Diego. Guests were entertained in the patio and front yard of the home and after pleasant honors of visiting, refreshments were served. The long table covered with a white linen cloth had a beautiful bouquet of silvered leaves and tall white tapers in silver holders. The anniversary cake, iced in white and silver was first cut by the guests of honor and then served by Mrs. Gaddie. Mrs. Miller presided at the silver coffee urn. The hostess invited guests to sign their names in the guest book which was presented to the bride and bride groom of 25 years with gifts of a "purse" and other silver remembrances. For the party Mrs. Meierhoff chose a navy sheer, black accessories, and a purple orchid corsage. Olive Notes Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Heman and her niece, Miss Carolyn Meierhoff returned to their home in Olive on Saturday after a two weeks visit in Soap Lake, Wash, with Mr. and Mrs. Gene Burbank (Marilyn Heman) and children, Patsy, Rudy, and Charles, formerly of Orange and Olive and also Olive Notes Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Heman and her niece, Miss Carolyn Meierhoff returned to their home in Olive on Saturday after a two weeks visit in Soap Lake, Wash, with Mr. and Mrs. Gene Burbank (Marilyn Heman) and children, Patsy, Rudy, and Charles, formerly of Orange and Olive and also Mr. and Mrs. Guy Hunting and family who moved to the Washington town last spring. While there, the Burbanks took their guests on a trip to the Grand Coulee Dam and other points of interest in Eastern Washington. Park Doll Show Plans Underway The girls and boys of Anaheim are readying their dolls for the coming special event, the annual doll show. Sweepstakes prize is being offered by the Anaheim Doll club. This prize will be given for the best child fashioned dress which must be made by the contestant. The show will be held at the Optimist club house located on 113 W. Chartres. Contestants are asked to have their dolls at the club house between nine to 12, making sure that they are properly marked. Dolls will be judged by a committee from the Anaheim Doll club. Those of the committee are: Mrs. Lenard, Mrs. Tucker, Mrs. Tosier, Mrs. Simms, Mrs. Salesbury and Mrs. Cook. From this group three will judge the affair. Ribbons will be given in the most beautiful, foreign, religious, largest, smallest, unusual and collection divisions. Date is July 30, from nine to 12 with judging at 12:30 and presentation at one.
