Gerre Homan-Richard McKenna Say Vows at White Temple Methodist Miss Gerre Homan, attractive daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Homan of South Gate, was a lovely bride Sunday as she said vows with Richard McKenna of West Covina, at the altar of White Temple Methodist church. Spring flowers decorated the altar for the late afternoon services, read by the Rev. Frank Butterworth. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an ankle-length gown of white embroidered organdy with puffed sleeves and a peter pan collar. The family crown held her waist length veil and she carried white shattered daisies. Maid of honor, Miss June Draper from UCLA, wore white organdy over gold taffeta with a bouquet of beige daisies. Miss Joanne Penrose from UCLA, Miss Diane Raymond, also from UCLA, and Miss Nancy Lou Homan, the bride's sister, were bridesmaids and wore white organdy over yellow taffeta and carried brown centered yellow daisies. Little Miss Linda Campbell as flower girl, wore a bouffant dress of white organdy over taffeta. The bride's four year old cousin, Bruce Pape, was ring bearer and Miss Norma Tews was reader. Robert Orr served as best man, and ushers were Gerald Leavitt, Arthur Alacron and Mark Rider. Assisting at the reception were Mrs. Arthur Alacron, Miss Betty Lou Neigh and Miss Helen Hillary. Miss Teddy Lou Payne had charge of the guest book. The bride's mother wore apple green rayon with accessories in beige and coco and a corsage of cymbidiums. Mrs. McKenna wore a brocaded ensemble with white accessories. The bride chose for traveling a navy blue suit with a red and white linen hat and carnation corsage. Good cooks stagger cake pans on the oven rack so as to allow full circulation of hot air during baking. When the cake layers are baked the cakes should be turned out on cooling racks to prevent "sweating." Avoid storing canned foods in high kitchen cupboards because it's usually too warm there for them. THE S.Q.R.
