NEUBAUER It is more blessed to give than to receive... Acts 20:35... LOOKING BACKWARD — A lot of tiny grains of sand have trickled through the hour glass in a year; but the news of the day hasn't changed much... We still have Korea... Truce talks that are anything but a propaganda sounding board... Last year there were deep freezes, mink coats and tax frauds to add spice to the Washington budget... It's the same this year. GRADUATION — The Gazetteer would like to pause from the routine of chronicling the Anaheim scene to congratulate each and every one of Anahi's 1952 graduates. To single out any one—or several—of these young people for scholastic, athletic or other achievements would be unjust. Each young man and young woman has made a definite accomplishment. Behind each parchment is an individual drama. To some the diploma is a great accomplishment; to others it has been an achievement that demanded little effort and sacrifice. While those who achieved scholastic honors during their four years at Anahi, may receive special recognition in the future. Whatever the case may be, each Behind each parchment is an individual drama. To some the diploma is a great accomplishment; to others it has been an achievement that demanded little effort and sacrifice. While those who achieved scholastic honors during their four years at Anahi, may receive special recognition in the future. Whatever the case may be, each one of these Anahi graduates has a foundation upon which to build his future in an insecure world. Opportunity is still here for those who will grasp it. The problems an Anahi graduate faces are numerous. Many have debated the advisability of going to college; others are undecided because of the draft; some plan on going to work immediately upon graduation. Whatever the decision, the path to whatever success they achieve will not be easy. But, today Anaheim is proud of its Anahi graduates. In the future, Anaheim, too, will be proud of the successes many of these 1952 graduates make for themselves in an ever-changing world. Good luck, Anahi Class of 1952, God speed. CRITICISM — Maj. Gen. Daniel Hudelson created quite a furore by "speaking out of turn" regarding the Korean mess. It seems that the commander of California's 40th Division stepped on Pentagon toes with his straightforward statement that "UN forces cannot win in Korea". Apparently, military brass wants to keep it a top-level secret. Perhaps the general's statement does give "aid and comfort to the enemy," but it is something the homefolks should know about... Anaheimers just returned from Korea where they served with Co. K of the California 40th know that something ain't kosher in Korea... Sgt. J.H., an Anahelmer, who's seen what he wishes he hadn't, said: "Hudelson should have known better. He spoke out of turn, but I guess it's a good thing he did, because a lot of soldiers are dying uselessly."... Cpl. R.L., an Anaheimer with the usual minor or decoration, said: "Korea ain't MOVING: Moving of household goods, pianos, appliances, etc. Van available at any hour. Lowest rates, local and long distance.
